iTunes like scheduling.
Over the years we have found at our station that an iTunes like random fill function would be great for our channel.
Let me explain....
With iTunes you can rate your music and the highest rated stuff gets played the most during random plays. We would like to do something similar with our scheduling. Have the shows we like more play more often and the shows with less of a rating play less. It would be great if the schedule could just populate itself without us having to take a few days each month just to fill it up.
Does anything like this exist?
Thanks,
Brad

Inappropriate?Personally, I want to have more control over exactly which programs play on our channels, how many times and when...
Having said that, this idea would be perfect for PSAs and other interstitials, if such an engine could exist to fill the empty programming time BETWEEN long-form video programs. Boy, would that be helpful...

Inappropriate?Hey bmackey,
Nothing like this currently exists for Cablecast... but I think it's a really neat idea. I particularly like the popularity-rating aspect. One could imagine a scenario where you open up "voting" to your viewers, so you can get a sense of how shows are "performing" so to speak, and weight your schedule with more shows that people like. Sounds cool.
We'll keep it in mind as we discuss future options for scheduling shows.
