Installing Java on Tightrope Servers?
Hi --
We just put in a Tripp Lite UPS on a Cable Bundle system, and when I try to run the Power Monitor, I get a message that Windows cannot open the panconsole.jar file. I believe this is because Java is not installed on the server (I could be wrong on that). This software serves as the communicaiton link between the UPS and the server to tell it when to shut down in case of an outage.
So my question -- If I'm right, is it safe to install Java on the CblBundle server? What version of Java? If I'm wrong, what else can it be?

Inappropriate?Hey Nick,
We don't install Java on the servers we ship because none of our software requires it, but you shouldn't have any problems installing the Java runtime yourself.
As to which version, that depends on what version is needed by the software you want to install. I'd take a look at their documentation and see if a version is specified.
