loading video file in carousel
I want to add a short video (l minute) - currently it is on a dvd to our bulletin board. Is there someplace on this site that tells me how to do that? If not can someone help me with this?

Inappropriate? If you can get the video into a format QuickTime will play the all you need to do is upload the file.

Inappropriate?I have a user that sent me a video podcast she created using snapz pro for mac. The file (an m4a) plays in quicktime player and itunes, but won't seem to play on Carousel in a video window. Any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, an .m4a file is an audio-only file. So, are you attempting to use it as a sound clip for a bulletin? If that's the case, your best best is to convert it to an mp3 (using iTunes or something similar).
I'm confused by a the "video window" part. If it's really a video file, but with the wrong extension, note that Carousel can play back quicktime files (as an uploaded file, or as a video block within a template), however the file must end in a ".mov" extension.
Hopefully this helps somewhat,

Inappropriate?Sorry if I wasn't being clear. I meant in Carousel, playing a video on a page, using one of the templates, i.e. "Video Big", which plays the video in one section of the page.
The file she sent me is definitely an m4a, but plays in iTunes and Quicktime Player on my Dell PC. Interesting, I'll try to switch it to a .mov and see what happens.
In the meantime, I had her convert to an .avi and resend it to me, and that worked fine. Thanks for the replies...
In response to eswenson's original post, have you tried mpeg streamclip? It's a great little utility, downloadable and free from Squared 5. http://www.squared5.com/
