Logged out when deleting bulletins
I have a worker who was going through and deleting stale bulletins in Carousel. After deleting a bulletin he would be logged out of the system. He would have to log back in and go through the whole process again.
Is this a known bug?
Also, I have never used the Housekeeping option before, mainly for fear that is will automatically delete all things "old." How does it work? Does it let you review things before finally deleting them?
Thanks,
Zach

Inappropriate?I don't know about the log out...
but the deleting "stale bulletins" deletes anything who's schedule is past.
So if you set the end date as october 21st for the bulletin when you set it up. It will be deleted on October 22 if you ran housekeeping.
It won't delete things that are set to "until manually turned off", or if the end date has not yet been reached.

Inappropriate?Zach, your Carousel server has a unique problem with deleting bulletins. I remember from troubleshooting your system in the past that the asp_net state server does not run on your machine (maybe domain or network related) so we must run in-process state management in IIS. What happens when a bulletin is deleted, the web application recycles and looses the logged in state of your user. With the state server, this session is maintained when the app recycles.
Not sure how to resolve this, as I remember we have re-imaged your server back to factory default before with no help. I know this isn't an issue we are currently tracking so I think it's isolated to your setup.
Maybe we can image it once again and hope the problem goes away, otherwise is your machine is joined to your domain, maybe your IS department can help configure the domain policy to allow the ASP.NET State Service to run properly.
I’m not really helpful

Inappropriate?Zach,
Don't fear Housekeeping it's your friend. You are in control of what is deleted and the summary page allows you to preview the bulletins marked for deletion. Read this excerpt from the Carousel manual and give it a try.
