Matrox MXO a MAC product?
Carousel Matrox MXO SDI converter issue. It seems when tightrope sent us this box it came with no manual or software even though it has a USB cable. Looking at the web site for Matrox, this box is for MAC only systems! WTF Tightrope? Carousel is a PC based system. Long story short, I need to switch the output from component to composite and don't have a MAC close by.......

No worries. You will need to call or email tech support to give you a software key. This is through your normal Frontdoor updates. You will download the drivers and install. Here is the link for install.

Also, here is my view on the CBL-SDI

Did you get this figured out? -
Inappropriate?O.K.... After 4 hours of messing with this Matrox software I got nowhere. I followed all the instructions and could never get an output from the matrox box. Also re-booted after software install and got nothing until I pulled the DVI cable and re-booted again. Is this an SP3 thing? Frustrating....

Inappropriate? This is a great question in regards to SP3. I'm running SP2 because the SP3 patch caused numerous little problems with our box. Also, what version of nVidia driver are you using. Please post as I have a similar problem with video card driver update.

Inappropriate?Have had no issues with SP3 on this end as of yet. Nvidia driver version 6.14.11.7813.

Inappropriate?Hi Randy,
What's the state of your SDI box now? Is it operational?
We've been working with the manufacturer to smooth out these issues. Unfortunately, I don't yet have a timetable, but I do know they're aware of the issues and are working hard to resolve them.
I'm not 100% familiar with the ins and outs of the problem, but from what I'm aware (someone from TRMS please correct me if I'm wrong), once you get it set up and working, it should be relatively stable... There's a chance it can get goofed up again if changes are made to the system, like switching the USB port the box is plugged into, etc. But after going through the whole tweaking process again it should stay stable again.
Apologies that this hasn't been working for you the way it should. Once we know more about any possible fixes we'll be sure to post them loud and clear on this forum. :-)
Thanks for your patience with us,
-John -
John, Any word on this fix? We are considering purchasing 3 of these, but if they are not working correctly or are problematic, we might not. Please advise.
Thanks -
No word as of yet, unfortunately. We have been evaluating a Blackmagic HDMI to SDI converter with a DVI to HDMI adapter, but this unit doesn't scale. -
Ok. I guess if you are looking at different hardware, the original CBL-CGSDI box might not be an option we should purchase? -
It still isn't a bad unit to purchase as it's got a great signal output (both SDI and composite) it just doesn't scale the picture, so you lose a bit of the edges of the channel. This is easily worked around by adjusting the zone/channel output however (shrink it a bit) -
Inappropriate? The SDI box itself appears to be functional but just can't get an output. The first time I installed it, I had a picture and all looked good until I re-booted. Then I got no output from either video port on the graphics card until I unplugged the DVI connection to the Matrox. It went down hill from there. Tried re-installing the software but the program did not show up in add/remove programs list, swapped USB ports, reset the matrox box, re-loaded the driver for the NVidia card etc. No luck. Finally switched back to the NVidia card analog output.
