No audio on Cablecast programs
As of this afternoon, the audio on all Cablecast programs has stopped working. I shut down the server and rebooted it to no avail. Carousel still works and all audio is working fine on there, and other inputs like a VCR work, too. I currently use version 4.7.5.32. Will this error require an upgrade? Or is there a troubleshooting step I may have missed? Thanks for your help!

Inappropriate?Kelsi,
The first thing I'd check is the breakout cable for audio located on the back of the video server. There will be two of them plugged into the card, one for audio and one for video. Just make sure that the breakout cable is plugged in securely. Past that, if you're running an SX video server we have released Cablecast 4.8 which has resolved known issues with audio playback, and this may resolve your problem. Please submit a trouble ticket at http://www.trms.com/community requesting an upgrade for your software. Thanks!

Inappropriate? Thanks for your response, Chad. Okay, cables were checked. We do have an SX server (SX2) and now one of the two inputs is playing audio but the other one isn't.
I’m grrrr

Inappropriate? One longshot - check and see if the audio card on windows is set to center balance, and up to full. We've had loss of sound once, and it was traced back to a windows issue with the volume through the sound card audio driver....

Inappropriate?I checked the audio card and it is indeed centered and turned all the way up. Cablecast still has no audio! I think I might try a software upgrade and see if that works.
I’m fed up

Inappropriate? We had a similar problem once we upgraded to QuickTime 7.6. When we downgraded to 7.5.5, problem went away.
