Podcast files not showing up.
Hi all, quick question about podcasting files. We created a project. Then assigned shows to the project. We set the project to podcast. When we transcode our video files for on demand, they show up as WMV on the servers. My question is: when do the files get transcoded for podcasting? Am I missing a step? I can see the project in iTunes and in other RSS readers, but it says there are no files found. Am I missing a super obvious step? Is there more setup that I need to look at? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. We are excited about the podcasting opportuntiy.

Inappropriate?Hi Scott,
When I first set up our podcasting, I participated in the following forum thread and it was ultimately very helpful:

It seems like the long way around, but it absolutely works seamlessly, you'll love the end result!! I don't know if these steps have been rolled up into a new version of cablecast yet, perhaps one of the TRMS staff can better answer that for you.
Good Luck!

Inappropriate?Shawn,
I really appreciate the link! I looked over that post and it looks like what I need. I will try it out when I get back to the server in the morning!
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Ok. I believe that I have everything set up correctly based on the thread that Shawn shared. (thank you Shawn). However, I am unclear if I entered the IP address correctly in the config file. Do I need to include the port number or just the ip address? Does it need the HTTP:// in front of it? Also When I set the shows to transcode for the podcast file I see in the Digital File Management area a message of "Could not find a matching digital file for this show on a video server" next to each of the files below. The shows are showing up on VOD just fine. I did stop and restart the service for cable cast and assigned the administrator account.
Any thoughts?
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I entered the URL that points people to our cablecast server for other services, like front door, public site, etc. For us that was www.pittsfieldtv.net. I did not enter http:// or a port number, and it works.
You will eventually see the name of the acutal file in your show record. I noticed there is some latency between when the file is created, and when cablecast recognizes it.
Hope that helps!! Good luck.
