Post-recording Automation
It would be nice to be able to send deck commands for activities post recording. Currently our deck automation is working great, however whenever we use the schedule to record tapes onto the server we have to manually stop and rewind the tape after completion.

Inappropriate?If you go into the Location Settings -> IO -> Devices
and click on your device, you can set the end action. I don't use tape decks at all, but if the tape is scheduled, you should be able to set the device action to rewind and then the tape would rewind when its scheduled time ends.

This end action only takes place for playback when using an input as far as i can tell. It is currently set to rewind for our DVCam deck, but continues to play after recording. If you check the event list for the record channel, there are only 3 events sent. One to play the deck, one to start the encoder and one to stop the encoder. -
Inappropriate?I See.... I thought you were doing record first runs.... Which is actually a way to accomplish this.
I don't think Cablecast Licenses anymore for channels, so this is what you could do.
1) Create a new channel... Use a preview monitor as the channel output.
2) Schedule whatever you want to record on that channel.
3) Do a 'record run' on that showtime. This will create events in the event table for both the playback of the show, as well as the recording. This way your tape can rewind.
