Potential Boot Problem in Windows 2000 Servers

<h1>NOTICE TO ALL CABLECAST AND CAROUSEL OWNERS WITH SERVERS RUNNING WINDOWS 2000:</h1>

We have discovered that a few customers seem to be experiencing the same symptom of an unknown problem: the Cablecast/Carousel machine will lock up and then upon reboot, the system's registry will be corrupt, requiring a complete reinstallation of the operating system.

This is not the same issue related to Carousel's display engine.

This problem only exists on Windows 2000 based machines. Tightrope does not use the Windows registry and therefore we can only guess at the problem. So far, we haven't had any luck at finding a common thread, other than that all of the machines have had virus software installed, but not the same brand.

There are probably 100-150 Windows 2000 based Tightrope servers out in the field. So far this issue has come up 3 times. For those three people, it has been a tremendous headache; especially for the early ones, where we kept reinstalling Windows 2000 only to get the same results.

Tightrope is able to update your machine to Windows XP. Please note that no data is lost during the upgrade process, but Tightrope cannot be responsible for accidental loss due to hardware failure or shipping.

The cost is $200.00 plus shipping (this includes labor and Windows XP Pro)

Any additional upgrades that are purchased will be installed at no additional charge.

At your request, Tightrope will update your software to the latest version that is available under the terms of your warranty at no charge.

If you would like to keep the machine and have us update it remotely:

The cost is $200.00 (this includes labor and Windows XP Pro)

You must have a working VNC connection.

Tightrope will send you a CD/DVD of a ghost image for you to install. You will be responsible for following instructions regarding the installation of the ghost.

Tightrope will finish the installation through VNC.

Any additional upgrades that are purchased will be installed at no additional charge.

At your request, Tightrope will update your software to the latest version that is available under the terms of your warranty at no charge.
