Random playing of Audio background playlist?
Can the audio playlist be setup to play randomly. I took a lot of time to create a playlist on my office computer that had 108 audio files in a random list so that the same group didn't play all their songs one after another. When I went to add the files one at a time (this needs to be updated also - we should have bulk uploading of audio music files) the browse list came up with all my files alphabetically. So, is there some way to have them play randomly anyways?

Hi Dick,
Good news! Carousel 5.2.0, which now available for upgrade, contains the features that you were hoping for!
Case # 3280: Background audio can be uploaded in a bulk file
The background audio list will now extract and add all audio files within a .zip file that is uploaded.
Case # 3281: Playlist of background audio can be randomized
Added support for playing the background audio tracks in random order.

Hi Dick,
At the moment, Carousel doesn't: a) let up upload mp3's in bulk, and b) doesn't have a "randomize" function.
I agree with you though, that it probably should. And we've had this request from a few other customers as well.
So, I've created a couple cases in our tracker for it:
Bug 3280 for uploading background audio in bulk zip files
Bug 3281 for randomizing playback.
I'm not sure when these will be scheduled just yet, but we'll go over them when we review our next set of releases. Be on the lookout for those bug numbers when we do release announcements. I'll also try to update this post if we make any progress.
I hope this helps for now,
-John

Inappropriate?Okay, I'll try and keep my eyes open for it. I hope it gets on a priority list because playing them all in order is really not technologically advanced. The system we switched from, Briggs Media Systems, did it without any problem and it was not as sophisticated a system as the Carousel.
I’m hoping
