schedule
Scheduling: I'd like to able to schedule by day of the week and not by date. Is that feature coming anytime soon? or will you add it?

Inappropriate?Lou,
Scheduling by day of the week is not in the works. Mainly because Cablecast is designed to allow you to schedule for days, weeks, or even years ahead of time. But, we do know that many customers do want a repeating schedule. Do you use the Block Copy feature of Cablecast? It is designed to easily copy your schedule from week to week.
You can check out a video on how it works on our web site under the community section
I’m hoping this helps

Yes, JJ. I use the block copy feature. Unfortunately, I only helps a little. Maybe you should make block copy work for a month. Even with that, it falls short. -
Inappropriate?Lou, do you just want to repeat your weeks' schedule forever? Then change it ans set it forever again?
-
Well, I wouldn't say "forever". I'd like to have a fixed day schedule for all "series" shows. When a new show of "Fun with dogs" comes in Oct., I just want to replace the show not the schedule. However, maybe every quarter or so I'd shake up the schedule so things don't get too stale. -
Inappropriate?I think Brandon made a plug in that does exactly what Lou wants.
You can schedule stuff, then fill the rest of eternity in your schedule with it.
You can also delete the rest of eternity from any given point.
I think that all of that equals what you need... I'm not sure of the status on it though. We'll have to find out if it's out yet. -
Inappropriate? For what it's worth, the plugin lives here:

Note that this copies a single day of schedule out for a specified period of time... not a week's worth of schedule.
It's also somewhat dangerous, as it permanently overwrites lots of schedule. So, it's really only handy for someone who wants to repeat a single 24 hour period of schedule everyday for months on end.
