Sarah,
Generally "dark" video is caused by double termination. The cable that is connected to the input on the server, where does it come from? You should make sure that there are no T adapters installed anywhere in its path, as that can lead to termination issues. The other common cause would be running the signal through a monitor, and having the termination switch set to 75 Ohm, instead of Open or Hi-Z.
None of these!

That is all I can think of off the top of my head that could cause this.
Hope that helps

Inappropriate?Hi Sarah...
Are the meetings being encoded on the SX4, or are they being encoded by another computer?
Is it just these meetings that play back dark?
Do other programs encoded with the same computer as the meetings play back dark as well?
Sorry for all the questions, but the answers to these will help figure what is going on with your system.

Inappropriate?they are being encoded by the SX4, anything encoded by it plays back dark. All that is encoded to the server now are meetings that were encoded live.

Inappropriate?sarah, there is actually a bug in Cablecast 4.7.6 where files encoded in the 4:2:2 colorspace do not playback properly. This issue is fixed in 4.8. The files previously encoded are OK, but need 4.8 to playback.

You can change your Record Quality of the SX encoder device in cablecast to any of the 4:2:0 or 4:1:1 colorspace codecs.

Inappropriate?Hi, so we checked where you said to change the record quality and we were already in the right parameters, any other suggestions? our playback from the SX4 still comes out dark.
I’m confused

Have you checked to see that the video input is not double-terminated? Make sure it isn't split with a Y or T connector! -
