Using Microsoft Update with SX4 and CG250's
We just got an SX4 and CG250's. What is TRMS policy on Microsoft Update? We have used Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) on our existing Cablecast/Carousel system. Are there any problems with joining the new machines to the domain and using WSUS to manage their updates?

Inappropriate?We do recommend that you keep up on the Windows Updates. Just remember, that if you push out an update that requires a restart, you might catch that reboot on-air!
Many of our customers turn Windows Updates off and manually do updates once a month to avoid on-air problems.
I’m hoping for no on-air problems!

Inappropriate?We use WSUS which allows us to manually approve and manually install updates. The cablecast machines are in their own OU per policy, so we pick a time of our own choosing. This means no change from the way I do things with the new machines
