Video locks up during playback and some programs randomly lose audio... help. please. now. please. pretty please.
Video locks up during playback and some programs randomly lose audio... HELP ME PLEASE!!!
I initially thought the problem was due to a flaw in the settings of my NLE -- I had been using an mpeg2 setting that was getting the job done, but didn't look all that great and created HUGE files.... I tried switching to mpeg4, and thats when I began noticing the problems... (about 2 months ago) it started out as a few isolated incidents, and has gradually grown to the point of my server having to be restarted 3 times in the last 24 hours because of it locking up, programs stopping early, and audio not following video/audio not playing back at all. I am in SERIOUS need of some help here.
Currently, I am running the following software:
Cablecast 4.7.5 - Build 32
Carousel 5.1.1 - Build 6
Front Door 5.2.0 - Build 14
Is there a problem with running both mpg2 and Mpg4 on the same machine?

Inappropriate?Hi aspiringsnd,
Is your video server an SX server (SX-LE, SX-2, or SX-4)? If so, the first thing to do is upgrade asap to Cablecast 4.8 (announced here). We've made some major improvements to how the SX servers run in 4.8, and since you're still on 4.7, that should be our first plan of attack.
Assuming you do have an SX server, the upgrade is free. The first thing to do is find the document entitled "Cablecast 4.7 to 4.8 Software Upgrade Guide" on our documentation page of our website: http://www.trms.com/community/documen...
Have a read through that upgrade guide so you know what is involved with the upgrade process. It's a little bit more involved than a usual software upgrade, so it's important to know what you're getting into before you start. :-)
The next step is to request the update installers from our support team by emailing them at support@trms.com. I'd suggest including a link to this forum topic so they have some background info, and the list of your current software. They'll send you a download key for the updates.
If you feel comfortable performing the upgrade as described in the documentation, go ahead. If, however, parts of it seem confusing, it's probably best to schedule a time with our support engineers so they can apply the update for you (make sure you have all of the update software downloaded first, before your scheduled installation time).
I hope this helps,
-John

I am still losing program audio (I have now upgraded to 4.8.1). Now, however, I am also having a problem with the last frame freezing on programs, and being shown over the top of the next program scheduled. When this happens, autopilot says both SX2 playback channels have stopped playing... but I am still seeing the signal coming from both playback channels... again, HELP!!!! I am really lost here, and I need to know what to do.
I’m sad, and frustrated
