Weather Emergencies
Is there any way to implement an Alert Message that will auto-activate if there is a severe weather situation like a snow emergency or a thunderstorm/tornado?
I have a very basic understanding of how the current weather bulletins work (taking info from a national weather service system, etc...), but is there any way that Carousel could scan the data for words like "Severe Thunderstorm in Effect" etc... and generate an alert message from that? Or at the very least an Active Repeating Page every 2 or 3 slides?
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Zach

Inappropriate?I was just thinking about something like this the other day, so I will piggyback this question with Zach's. Is there a way to integrate EAS alerts with Carousel? As a former radio station engineer I know that the broadcast quality EAS units have some sort of CG output (since I was only doing radio I didn't pay much attention to the feature [:D] ).

Inappropriate?Right now, no. Carousel does have the ability to be triggered via XML from a remote source, but we don't have anything that will actually create the XML trigger. Someone would have to device a way to create that XML trigger to send to the Carousel unit, which would probably take a programmer to accomplish.
