Weather Page Template Editing
I made my own backgrounds for weather pages. When I try to edit the template. I see the original unknown page. This makes it difficult to align text on my custom backgrounds. Is there a fix for this?

Inappropriate?Sean,
Not at the moment as you're the first one to bring this to our attention! I've submitted a bug report and hopefully we'll see a fix for the upcoming Carousel 4.5 release, otherwise it will make it into a service release shortly thereafter.

Inappropriate? This may or not be along the same lines, but is there a way to create multiple weather backgrounds?
On our university's cable channel we allow businesses to sponsor a weather bulletin. When the bulletin comes up, the background music fades and you hear something like 'ACME Company is proud to sponsor this weather bulletin. Please visit our website at www.acmegrommitsandgeneraluselessitem... or call us at...."
What would be nice is to have weather backgrounds customized for the company's logo watermarked in the background, and possibly even a phone number or URL, working around the text areas provided for the weather information.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Zach,
Assigning a specific background to a weather bulletin is done on a per-bulletin basis. You could easily do what you're thinking of by taking for example seven sponsors, and assigning them each a weather page assigned to one day of the week. That way each day will have a separate background w/ the bulletin. Make sense?

Inappropriate? If memory serves, I think I had tried that but couldn't seem to find a way to create unique backgrounds for separate bulletins. I'll look into it more this summer, maybe I just wasn't trying the right things, as I was still new to Carousel.
Thanks, -
Inappropriate?Okay, I just took a look at this again and realized where I became confused. I was thinking that uploading a new background would change the background for all of the weather bulletins.
When I go in to make a new weather bulletin, I can select images for the various background images (depending on weather conditions).
If I upload a new image, am I correct in believing that it will only effect the new weather bulletin and not pre-existing bulletins?
And my next question (to bring this back to Sean's topic... sorry for highjacking the thread...) is where do I find the template for weather bulletins? If I want to change the layout a little bit, where is the template listed to allow me to do that? -
Inappropriate?Zach,
You're correct that any changed you make would only affect the new weather bulletin and not the old ones.
To edit a weather template you need to click on the "Edit this Template" button on the top-right of the weather preview pane which appears after you choose your seven backgrounds. If you don't see that screen then you need an update to your Carousel.

Inappropriate?A-ha! Gotcha.
Okay, next question. If I wanted to get a clean full-res version of the default templates without previewing the slide, where could I find those files? -
Inappropriate? On our weather page, the outlook information is too large for the existing space on the template. The default font is to autosize but this results in the text looking tiny. If I take off autosize and change the font size then there is too much information for the small space. In fact it looks like it needs to be spread out across two pages. Is there any way to spread the weather outlook over 2 pages or receive a smaller text feed for the weather update?
Thanks,
Scott -
Inappropriate?BUMP.
The original question was never answered. I too have created my own backgrounds for weather bulletins. After selecting each one for the appropriate weather effect, I "edit this template" so I can choose what blocks to put and where. "Where" is the difficult part, as it shows me the default picture of "unknown weather" instead of any of my backgrounds.
Also, the weather preview is useless. Are there any plans to do anything about that.
