Inappropriate? When we use the term "Carousel server", we are referring to the machine that holds the Carousel database. Additionally, this machine will be running the Carousel service.

When you login from your web-browser, you are connecting to the server. You're players also connect to the server when the Display Engine is running.
A small Carousel system might exclusively use a Carousel Solo - which is both a server and player. A larger install might include a Carousel Pro and several players. In this case, the Pro is the server.
The best way to identify your Carousel server is to login to FrontDoor from your web-browser. You will see an IP address or a network name in the address field (ie: http://10.0.1.300/FrontDoor/Login.aspx). The IP (ie: 10.0.1.300) is the network location of your Carousel server. If the address field reads: "http://localhost/FrontDoor/Login.aspx", then you're on it!
In certain scenarios, you might be required to screen share to the server. Using a VNC application, connect to the IP address of your Carousel server.
