Why do I get French and Spanish translations?
When I ingest certain DVDs to the SX-4, I play them back to hear not only the English audio track, but an "SAP-style" Spanish or French translation which overrides the English. When playing the DVD on a standard player, I hear only the English audio - which is what I'm looking to play over the air. Is there a way to work around getting the translated audio with my mpg file?

Inappropriate?Hi David.
Hmm... I wonder if that DVD that you're importing has a different title set that contains english-only audio? When you're importing it, you should be able to select specific title sets to import that are present on the DVD... Could you try selecting and importing a different title set?
-John
I’m somewhat confused as well

Inappropriate?Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to select a certain title (there are three distinct ones in the window), I seem to lose the ability to click on the "import" button. Almost as if it's all or nothing...

Inappropriate?Huh. Unfortunately, our DVD expert is out of the office for the next week, so I guess I'm not entirely sure what is going on. It's possible that we've never tested the DVD import application with multilingual DVDs.
What's the likelihood of us being able to get a copy of that DVD from you? I think we should give it some testing in-house and see what the issue is.

Inappropriate?I'm going to give it one more try, John. If I still have no success, I'll burn a copy and send it on over.

DVD arrived today. Our DVDImport expert is back in the office on Monday, we'll take a look at it with him then. Thanks! --John -
Inappropriate?Due to the way it automatically selects the audio stream, the DVD Import software currently will use the stream with the highest ID. This has the affect of most-likely choosing a non-English stream if one is there, but works just fine if you have a single English audio stream on your DVD.
I think better behavior would be to choose the first audio stream, rather than the last, to have a better chance of choosing the one you want. Even more awesomer would be to detect many audio streams and allow you to choose which one you want to use (maybe you want that Spanish stream).
I added an issue in our bug tracking software (id 3503) to look at doing one of these options, we'll keep you posted!
I’m optimistic too

Inappropriate? As mentioned at http://gsfn.us/t/nar, we've released DVDImport 5.0 which now allows you to select which audio track you wish to use while importing.
I’m happy
