Inappropriate?Windows Vista is a suitable operating system for controlling our products through their web interfaces, however none of our locally installed programs (DVD Import, Carousel/Cablecast back ends, etc.) currently support Windows Vista.

Inappropriate?Windows 7 is still TBD, we're looking into it.
I’m glad they're using normal version numbers now

Inappropriate?Does this include Vista 64 bit?

Inappropriate? We have installed DVD Importer 5 on a Vista 64-bit machine. When we go to import a video it just shows the "hourglass" for a long time. We are not prompted for a file location. The preview feature works fine, just not the import. Thoughts?

Inappropriate?Hmm... I know that DVD Import 5.0.0 was fixed to work on 64bit systems as mentioned in this post: http://gsfn.us/t/nar
But... It's very possible that we only fixed it for XP 64bit. Can you try installing it on XP, either 32 or 64 bit and see if it works there?
Also, does it exhibit the same behavior for all DVDs that you try?

Inappropriate? We can get the program to install on XP successfully, but then it throws a DLL error when we try to run it. The Vista 64 install said "successful" and we can even preview the DVD in the program. It's just when we click the import button that we have to wait. To us, it should prompt us for a file location right away. Hope that helps.

Inappropriate? One other thing to check is that you have both .NET 2.0 and the Visual C++ 2008 Runtime installed, as DVD Import relies on both of these pieces. If they're not, both can be downloaded from Microsoft. (Be sure to download the version you need for x64)

Inappropriate?I've installed dvd import on two computers. One runs XP and one Vista. The XP runs with no problems. The vista does the same as Dakota Media-just shows the hourglass with no progress being made.
