Zone Synchronization with Video
Hey,
I'm trying to sync bulletins in two different zones together. I'm displaying 30sec video clips in one zone and 30sec text bulletins in the other. Basically one zone is a preview for a show and the other is a written description of the show. The problem that I keep facing is that the zones keep falling out of sync and I'm not sure what is throwing the timing off. Sometimes one slide seems to randomly change faster than the rest. Other times a slide will take too long to load, but nothing is consistent.
I have them in the order that I want them displayed in the Manage Bulletins page and I have turned on zone synchronization for those two zones with the bulletin length timeout et to 30sec and the cycle length timeout set to 240sec (8 bulletins in each zone running for 30sec each).
Do you know anything that I can do to get this running smoothly?
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Nick,
How quickly do the two channels go out of sync? I have a couple of ideas in my head already but want a bit more data before I start throwing out possibilities. Thanks!

Inappropriate? One thing that seems to be helping is I changed the length of the zone synchronization to 33sec per bulletin and thus 264sec for the cycle. I figured that way the video clips would have enough time to load.
But there is still one problem. It seems that if the description zone loads and cycles through first then the video zone will match up, but if the video zone loads first then the description zone will load incorrectly by playing its first slide during the last video clip.
Is there a way of controlling the order in which the zones initially load? I'm not sure if this is the solution or if there is something easier to do than the timing change I made. Do you have any suggestions that might help this run more smoothly or is this what you had in mind? -
Inappropriate?I'm not aware of a way to make the zones load in a certain order, but I doubt that's the core issue behind what we're seeing. I'll run it by a couple of people and see what I can find, as I'd like this to work more smoothly for you.

Inappropriate?Nick, the zone synchronization feature will NOT do what you are describing. There really is no way to make 2 separate zones sync like you want. The best I can suggest is to make 1 zone and have templates that have a video block in them so you can have the video with some description text next to it.
