Custom URL to 2nd level sub-domain?

Hi there,

I'm not that into webhosting / domain stuff, although I own one and pay for it.
I do want to know, if a subdomain has a different A-record / IP address? Because I do want to link to a subdomain (blog.*.de or tumblr.*.de) without my main domain!

Does anyone know sth. about this issue and could maybe also help me with the practical implementation?

Hi, Philipp. Yes, subdomains do have A Records. And, yes, you would need to point the A Record of a subdomain to Tumblr in order to use that subdomain with Tumblr. Details are at:

Hi there, as you see I linked this url above. :P But I solved it through transfer of my understanding of the C-NAME system used by myOpenID anyway, thanks! :)
