error uploading gif
I'm getting "Error uploading photo." every time I try to post an animated .gif. It is only ~115K but has almost 30 frames. Is there an animation limit? I have tried in firefox and IE, and I have tried opening the file in an editor and making a new copy, and I still get the infuriatingly uninformative message above.

Inappropriate?Seriously?
-
Inappropriate? It isn't an arbitrary limit. There are different and sometimes conflicting standards for animated GIFs and so it can be difficult at times to make certain GIFs work well.

Inappropriate?Conflicting standards or whatever, most of the web manages to host .GIF files with more than 26 frames. It's completely absurd to block them from being uploaded, and even more absurd to give a generic Error message without explaining why.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I am having the same problem. I have reduced the GIF frames to 26 frames (it was originally 36 frames) and the file size is only 288kb. I have worked on this for two days; really it shouldn't be this difficult to upload a GIF file.

Inappropriate?Same problem here. Trying to upload a gif, less than 500kb, less than 26 frames and no go. Getting the same error. It's painful
-
Inappropriate?I'll add, I've tried in firefox and safari, hosting through tumblr and external hosting.
-
Inappropriate? No matter how small the gif is, or how little frames it has, mine still won't work.
-
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem, as well. It won't even let me use an external URL, either. I'm sure as hell not going to dick around with the frames because your site has mediocre standards.
