Tumblr Posting Bug List
I love Tumblr, but this is my current list of nagging issues, if anyone is listening.
1. Text Posts:
When posting video posts in the text field (in html or normal view) - the embed code disappears once the post goes live (or if you click the "html" edit button after embed code has been pasted), thereby making it impossible to edit once the post goes live. Why would I use video embed code in a text post? To get a unique title to appear.
Also why can't we upload a photo into a text post? I know Tumblr is trying to do "a whole new kind of blogging" thing, but being overly limited in how a post appears and searching for workarounds isn't that fun.
2. Photo Posts:
These work very well, but why can't we add a title if we want to? Having blog posts that don't have a unique title make services like disqus (for comments) more frustrating to use. (Not a bug, but again, a functionality request)
3. Over ALL post types:
When using a linked image - "middle" alignment options (from the pop up window drop down menu) don't work. No matter what. VERY FRUSTRATING. Also, in the pop-up window, the "insert" and "cancel" buttons are obscured by the bottom of the window!
Window needs to be re-sized to show.

All this is very frustrating to try to make a non-photo post that shows a pic in some way. I'm on a mac - is this solely a mac thing?
4. The Get Satisfaction page - Does Tumblr pay attention to it? Is it a waste of time? I love other compnaies on it, when there is a response. ;)
Where is the robust user community - can it be linked to from the tumblr site?
Beside that, Tumblr is wonderful. I love the "follow" integration, and the amazing ease of use. These limitations and bugs are a big drag at the moment, though.

Inappropriate?Hi, folks. I will pass these comments along to the Tumblr team. Please understand that Tumblr has only had two employees and I have just started as the third. This means that we have a small number of people getting pulled in a lot of different directions. So, we've had to make some tough decisions on where to focus our time. what? you can't? :) at least I can :) look at jenniparker.com - all just text posts :)
I agree that idea to optional title of photo entries would be great :)
Small hint - for DISQUS it's enough to change tag {PostTitle} to new one {PostSummary} in your theme...and everything works great :)
