Make the iPhone app available world wide

I live in UK and US and watch my UK TV thru a Slingbox when I am away but I am unable to download the iPhone app because it is ONLY available in the UK Apple store. Why is this? I can (legally) watch my TV o I'd like to be able t find out what's going to be on it....
