Error message - "Please check your a/c is correctly linked to your Sky+ Box"
I have called Sky and been passed around a million times + they think everything looks ok from their side, but I still cant get TV Plus to work.
I have installed TV Plus on my iPhone and can see the listings and press record. When I do it comes up with the message in the title.
I have registered with Sky.com, and after several calls, realised I was registered twice (primary & guest). So I have removed remote record from both + also suspended all a/c's on my Sky HD box. I then re-registered for Remote Record on my primary a/c + put my correct mobile number on my Sky HD box.
One thing Sky mentioned was that I should have Sky Anytime activated on my phone, so I can see the listings, and when I said I have an iPhone, they said they dont support that and it must be a problem with the software im using. Although, after speaking to about 20 people @ Sky, im not conviced they know how to fix this, as all they seem good at is passing people around to other departments because the question is too complicated for them.
After tripple checking everything, I cannot see what the problem is, and Sky cannot offer any more assistance, so any idea's would be much appreciated....

Inappropriate?I forgot to mention earlier. I can see the listings via MySky - TV Listings, and when I click record on my laptop, it successfully sends the instruction to my Sky HD box.
So, its just my mobile it wont work on :-( -
Inappropriate?Ok - here's the latest. I swapped my sim card back into my old Nokia N95 8gb. I then went online with it to Sky.com and activated Sky Anytime, which sent me a text message and embedded link, to download the Sky Anytime Mobile onto my phone. I downloaded that onto my Nokia, and it instantly worked fine & I can use it to view the Sky channel menu + successfully managed to intruct my Sky HD box to record a program.
So that kinda narrow's down the odds:
Nokia N95 8GB - Sky Anytime - works
My Sky.com registration - works
My Sky HD box is set up correctly - works
TV Plus via my iPhone DOES NOT WORK. I swapped the sim card back into the iPhone and tried to record something using TV Plus, and got the same message, as per the title above. It seems that iPhone is not compatible with the Sky Anytime, and that seems to be an essential part of the link. When I registered with Sky Anytime on Mobile and it sent me the link to download it, it will not load on the iPhone.
I have no idea how anyone has managed to get this to work on their iPhone, so if anyone has any bright idea's, im all ears, as this is getting very frustrating and time consuming.
Nokia = quick set up, and free. :-)
iPhone = wasted hours, and had to pay for the privilage :-((((((
So, im looking for a quick solution, or a full refund.
I’m getting really frustrated with this now...!!!

Inappropriate? After delving through all of the other threads of similar problems, I decided to delete TV Plus from my iPhone, then re-installed it. (no charge for doing this). I then launched TV Plus, then re-entered my primary SKY+ holder name & password (Sky.com registration details). Mine worked straight away when I did this. I think the problem was that I originally had 2 Sky.com a/c's (a primary + a guest). When I first installed TV Plus, I must have entered the guest details (as I had just registered with Sky.com and thought this was the only log in details I had, but it seems I'd forgotten that I had already pre-registered with Sky.com a couple of years ago and never used it). So, although everything was set up correctly, TV Plus was still trying to send record instructions under my guest login name. Now that I am re-installed and using the primary login details, it works fine. Woooo hooooo
Fantastic application (now that I can get it to work) and I hope the above helps any other people who are having similar problems.
:-))))))))) -
Inappropriate?I have been having the same problem. However, I think that I have fixed it now.
Within the TV Plus menu select Region under Settings. Then select the correct region for your location. For exanple "North West Yorkshire".
I have got the message to this that Eastenders will be recorded, but waiting for it to appear on sky planner or to start recording.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the region tip. It would seem that the correct region for the location of your sky+ box is essential although you may not want to record from that region's channels. Now got another failure message, off to another forum

Inappropriate?I think the only reason mine didn;t work initially was because I must have keyed in my Sky guest login name when I first installed this app on my iphone. The problem was resolved when I deleted the app from my iPhone, then re-installed it (no extra charge), then I ensured I entered my primary sky a/c details (check with sky to ensure you have the correct primary a/c name etc). Everything works fine now & its a great app. Hope this tip helps, as I know how frustrating it was.

I've checked I am using my primary account (also found out I had a guest account) but still no joy. Have tried reinstalling too. Extremely frustrating. -
Inappropriate? Are you able to try it with another phone (like I did with my old N95, or try it on someone elses phone) + have you tried it on your PC, to see if your a/c is set up correctly with Sky & successfully record something. Once you've confirmed this, that will narrow it down to a definate iphone problem, or a problem with your sky a/c. If the PC & other phone work, then its definately the iphone and aside from ensuring its your primary a/c details + correct region, im not sure what else it could be. Is it possible to get sky to terminate your guest login, just in case that's causing problems. Hope you get it sorted.

Inappropriate?Still doesn't work, correct region, account, reinstalling TV Plus. I want my money back
I’m frustrated

jorn - can I confirm that your username and password works at http://tv.sky.com/tvlistings ? -
Inappropriate?Sheesh, sorry to hear that. If you have tried all of the above, and still cant get it to work, then I guess you'll need to ask the developer for a refund. I cant think of anything else to solve it. Sorry.
