TweepMe Admin - Categorize
This idea is really interesting - I can see both sides of the argument, and I think I can see a solution to make this work.
Those people who 're saying this falsely increases twitter profile - how can it be false? if you've got 1000 followers then you've got 1000 followers, how you got them followers is besides the point & what does it matter to anyone else??
I do agree with what people are saying however that suddenly having 9,999 un-relevent twitter "friends" is a complete waste of time, and will just full your screen with unwanted irrelevent rubbish, and spam up tyhe system, & you'll be spending all your time unfollowing people who are tweeting stuff you just have no interest in.
So the way to make the most of this idea - would be to categorize, and even better still - allow search keywords, that searches members updates to check for instances of these keywords.
The latter might be a bit tricky to code, but even if that can't be done, surely you can create categories, and ask members to categorize themselves, and limit how many categories they can choose - then only create recpirocal follows between members who put themselves into the same categories.
Perfect idea, I think, would be that you put in a few keywords when you join, to say what you're interested in, and members updates are checked for instances of these keywords, and recip follows are only created with people where these keywords are found. For instance if I only want to talk to people who're interested in scuba diving, rock music, web marketing & metaphysical discussion - for example, if these are the things that interest me, then I'd only follow & be followed by members who have tweeted using one or more of these keywords.
Cheers
Kev
