Inappropriate?I've been having this problem too. However it also happens with Twhirl and Alert Thingy so I think it's an issue with Adobe Air not connecting to the web. I haven't found a solution anywhere.
I'm on Vista. Have tried turning firewall off. Reinstalled Adobe air and tweetdeck. No Banana.
I reported this in the Adobe Air section too:

Inappropriate?I'm starting to see more people talking about this on twitter

Inappropriate? My TD runs fine on my mobile 3G connection but hangs and won't refresh on ADSL LAN. I've reinstalled both TD and Air (latest version) and I've double checked the firewall settings - they are identical on both connection settings so I'm stumped ...
-
Inappropriate?I've never been able to log in to it, I really wanna try it out because I didn't much care for the way Twhirl handles updates. I'm running Windows 7 beta if that helps. I'm also barricaded behind a college connection, so that may also be the problem
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Worked ok when I first installed at work, but I'm having this problem at home behind wireless router. No idea what settings (if any) I should be looking at tweaking.
-
Inappropriate? There's definitely an issue with router or WiFi settings here. I've written to the Tweetdesk helpdesk but they haven't replied. Called my DSL provider (Telkom South Africa) and they sent me off to the router manufacturer. Arrgh.

Inappropriate?I see this internally when a user tries to launch as a limited user, not an admin user. if you right click and select run as... it works fine after authenticating admin credentials, i on the other hand need to find a way to get it to run as limited. any suggestions?
-
Yup. I think that's my problem. And it's linked to the LAN settings. I don't have a solution though .... other than to illegally overwrite the admin settings. -
Inappropriate?I fixed this problem via IE. I switched all network settings back to default
-
Inappropriate?yeah i've tired the IE thing, tried uninstalled, reinstalling tweetdeck AND adobe air, and nada :(
I’m really bummed
-
Inappropriate?Yup...tried everything...definitely an Adobe Air problem, 'cause no Tweetdeck, no Twhirl, no DestroyTwitter...anything that runs on AA.
I've tried uninstalling, re-booting, re-installing all of the above programs until I'm blue in the face.
I've even uninstalled all my anti-virus, turned-off firewalls, uninstalled sypware, Windows Defender....I'm wide-open...still nothing.
Too bad....It was all running gangbusters for many months, then SOMETHING happened.
'Running Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP laptop...and this is absolutely my first hint of ANY problem with Vista. Love this OS!
Adobe Air help forum has zilch on this problem!

Inappropriate?TD worked for many months and many versions and today I can't get beyond "Twitter Status: There is a problem - don't panic" Can't get anywhere with it. Removed all AA applications, removed AA, re-installed all and no go. Same with Twhirl. I really like TD!
-
Inappropriate?OK, this turned out to be a Windows Vista Winsock problem, which was a remnant of a virus infestation. I found no solution. I've now reformatted my hardrive and am re-installing everything. THAT worked. Ugly, but it worked.

Inappropriate?I faced a similar problem recently which I managed to solve:

Inappropriate?A SOLUTION
I just install AVG Internet Security and Tweetdeck stopped working.
I narrowed it down to the Firewall settings for TWEETDECK.EXE.
Depending on your Firewall and desire for tight Firewall settings you could either allow TWEETDECK.EXE to do whatever it wants (any destination/any port) or you could allow the following specific addresses/ports
You need to allow ALL of the following, I think - all 'Outbound' connections.
128.121.146.100 Ports 443 80 (Twitter)
128.121.146.228 Ports 443 80 (Twitter)
128.121.146.235 Port 80 (Twitter)
128.121.146.107 Port 80 (Twitter)
72.21.202.192 (Not clear what this is ... maybe something to do with Amazon)
69.63.184.143 Port 80 (Facebook)
69.63.176.141 Port 80 (Facebook)
72.21.211.148 80 (Amazon?)
70.32.107.61 (Tweetdeck.com)

Inappropriate?Hi DrBob, thanks for the info,
but can you give more info about that? I don't understand exactly what I need to do. You're giving ports there, but what about the IP's? what do I do with them?
Sorry to ask, but I don't know what to do.. Thanks!

Inappropriate?I'm having a similar issue with Mac OS X. After the "Welcome To TweetDeck" information fades away, Nothing happens. There is no login, the only buttons across the top that work are 12seconds, stocktwits, search (but doesn't search), group (but can't do anything), etc... and for several other buttons, it asks which account I'd like to use for this. The list of accounts is blank, and I cant find where to add an account! UGH...

Inappropriate?I had the same problem and with much google-ing(lol) something finally worked!! My problem was that adobe air wasn't connecting any apps to the internet. I use mozilla firefox as my main web browser, but i opened my internet explorer and i got a little pop up that says work offline? or something like that, and i clicked connect. Basically i guess my internet explorer was working offline for some reason. So after i was connected, I opened Tweetdeck and it worked like a charm :] I hope this works for someone!

Inappropriate?YIPPEEEEE. Thanks Nessa. You solved my problem - after months and months. I'm a Firefox user too and I never use IE. After reading your comment I checked the connection settings on IE and sure enough it was set to connect to a particular proxy server (rather than "Automatically detect etc) and once I had changed that - hey presto. Tweetdeck loads. There's obviously some kind of connection between IE and Tweetdeck - is it build on IE API or something. Either way that's the key. Thanks again.
I’m over the moon gosh darnit
-
Inappropriate?well my problem seems to be nowhere else, and i have tried Re-Installing, ect. But it does the same. I open TweetDeck, then type in my username & password, but as soon as I press enter it automatically has the not responding notification
This has been going on for months - I'm sick of it!

Inappropriate?I'm running Tweetdeck on a Mac, OSX 10.4.11. I get the 'Ah, wrong details' message no matter which of my two Twitter accounts I try to log on to. I have no problem logging in using Twitbin or Echofon.
-
Inappropriate?Someone hacked into one of my accounts so I changed the password (twice now) via Twitter. Unfortunately, my search column on TweetDeck comes up but the other columns just load interminably. I'm also on a Mac OSX and I also get the "Ah, wrong details" message...
Any ideas what could be going on?
