We've added a "rotate" photo option to twitpic.com. This will compliment our server-side auto-rotate solution once it goes live. Hopefully this works great for everyone. I've tested it on IE 7 / Firefox 3 / Safari 3.
Thanks for being patient everyone, I know this request wasn't fixed as fast as it should have been. I'm hoping to be able to devote the majority of my attention to twitpic soon.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? The iPhone auto-orients the photo on your display screen so that it appears it is positioned correctly, but when the actual photo file will be displayed at the orientation at which the phone was held at. We have a fix in place for this and we are waiting on our new hardware to be put into production, then we can turn this feature on. Thanks for letting us know.

Inappropriate? How about adding a features that lets us manually rotate the images once they've been uploaded?
-
I totally second that...! Why not just have a "rotate picture" option on the website...?! -
Inappropriate?Hey Noah, I agree with @chslaw, would it be possible to add a manual rotate function? so we can alter the image ourselves until our hearts content?
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for the rotating function...but...
How do you save the rotation?
When I rotate the picture and then reload the page or go back to the list of my photos, the picture reverts back to its orginial orientation.
Oh and I am using Internet Explorer 7. -
Inappropriate?Yesss...!! Finally...!! Thanks...!! What took you so long...?! ;)))
Just kidding, glad it's in there now...
I’m glad that I don't have to worry about pic being upside down anymore

If there is some auto-save function coded into the XML, HTML or otherwise, it sure ain't working from the server side.... -
The rotate option we rolled out today does not save the orientation. The next option we are working on will auto-orient the photo when its uploaded to twitpic and keep the correct orientation. This current fix is just to help offset the aggravation of not being able to view the pic correctly. -
Inappropriate?Noah, the rotation option is great, but it appears to have no way to _save_ the orientation for future page loads (or reloads). At least from my enterprise IE (6.0.29), Safari (3.1.2) and Firefox (2.0.0.15) browsers.
