why do users have to provide their Twitter credentials for just uploading a picture?
Hi, why do I have to provide a twitter user name and password for uploading pictures? As the manufacturer of a twitter client, I don't want my software to provide my users Twitter user name and password to a third party.....

Inappropriate? The reason we require the twitter username/password is because we validate every request to twitter's API to make sure the user is valid. This is to prevent someone from "hijacking" another user's account just by passing in their username.
I understand your concern with passing in the user's twitter password. We do take great precaution with transferring and storing that data to ensure its safe and secure.
Also you can access our API methods via SSL just by changing the request from http:// to https://
I’m happy
