we should have multiple tabs to separate tweets as we wish. for example - i follow wedding photographers, seo experts and friends. it would be cool to have them separated into 3 different tabs.

My updates are protected. And it would be great if a person, who do not follow me, will receive my @replys after all in the Reply-Tab.

I just love the Translate to English feature in Twitter Search. Please bring this to our home pages! I am now following a friend in Tokyo who chooses to Twitter in Japanese and would love to keep up!

Twitter should post a list of mobile carriers which allow you to send sms's and the verification code.For the users of the rest of the carriers which do not allow it alternate third party systems/websites could be suggested.E.g. In India the users of the carriers which do not support twitter could use an alternate website. Also those third party system user verifications could be used to verify mobile no.s of those phones not supporting twitter.For this, while registering the mobile no. on twitter,you can also ask to register the mobile phone carrier .For e.g.If a mobile carrier XYZ does not support twitter and there are three alternative third party systems(A,B and C) that allow you to post to twitter via another no. the posting via those available systems should be seen as a verification of twitter from that no.
After that the link that is constantly on the homepage telling one to set up the phone with twitter should either be disabled or disappear.If the above is not possible or feasible
at the very least there should be a disclaimer on the homepage itself that all mobile phone carriers may not be supported.

It's great that you guys are suspending spammy accounts now. Now that you're doing this, would it be possible to create a new setting for automatically blocking any account that has been marked as Suspended? Many people don't want to see their avatar on a spammer's Following list and right now it's still a cumbersome process to go through the New Follower emails and manually block the accounts that have been suspended. Or at least expose the Suspended status via the API so that third party developers (My Tweeple, Twerp Scan, Your Twitter Karma, etc.) can build this type of functionality.

Add a "Spam" flag to user profiles

I would like to be able to group tweets by people I am following. The grouped view should show the icon, the name, and the last time they updated (and would be really sweet if I could see if I have already "read" a particular tweet within the group). Then I should be able to expand each group individually. Also, this should flow through to widgets.

Find from other networks, should include other social websites, such as Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, etc. I know a lot of people who use twitter applications on Facebook. Maybe find a way to search for those apps?

Make it easier to see the spammers
On the "person X is following you" email:

1. put the number that the person is following/has following.
2. include a block button directly on the email
3. include the last 5 posts from that person
4. put a block button on the mobile version, too

I would love to opt out of the notification message that is sent via SMS when I turn SMS notifications "off" (and even "on" for that matter.) It is really redundant once you've been using Twitter for over a year and you turn notifications on and off once or twice a day.

I'm trying to save on text messages during the day so I can avoid moving to an unlimited plan. I turn it off when I'm in front of a computer so I can have them on via IM, and these additional notifications really add up.

Can twitter add support for services such as claimid.com?
This is as simple as allowing us to enter a string that would be set as the the value of a meta tag, or the name of a style class.

I'm using a twitter badge on my site (HTML/javascript) and I would like for users to be able to click on the links I put into my tweet. It would be cool if the twitter javascript would detect URLs and make them into hyperlinks when it creates the output for my web page.

As from today, Twitter no longer deliver SMS updates via +447624801423. Some countries may be given a new number some time in the future - but until then, affected users have to use alternative mobile solutions which don't alert them when a new Direct Message arrives in their Inbox.

My interim proposal:
Twitter should implement a non-answerable so-called ping call for +447624801423 as used by cellity in their cellity freeSMS and cellity Communicator mobile Java applications. This would be inexpensive and easy for Twitter to set up.

This is how the ping call works with cellity applications:

I've added cellityPING to my cellphone's phonebook, and given the number an SMS-like ringtone.
When a new cellity freeSMS arrives, my phone rings briefly and then displays a Missed call from cellityPING.
Then I start the cellity freeSMS Java app. on my phone, and head for my inbox.

I'd like to add TwitterPING +447624801423 to my cellphone's phonebook in the same way, and be alerted whenever a new DM arrives.

Of course, Twitter needn't limit this to Direct Messages. Some of my Twitter contacts update only a couple of times a week, and I'd want a ping alert to their public messages, too.

When I'm without PC access, I start cellityTweeter (16kB) maybe 2 - 3 times a day to view my Twitter timeline. Since cellityTweeter, like all 3rd.-party applications, can access only the last 20 tweets of any timeline, I could easily miss something interesting if my timeline been unusually busy.

I'd like the ability to add the Twitter application to my Wall and Info tab on the new Facebook. Currently it's relegated to the "Boxes" tab and won't let me spring out of there. I don't want to synchronize my Twitter and Facebook statuses, but I do want to at least have my latest tweet in an easily-found location on my FB profile.

Since we can't use sms anymore, what's the point of having a 140 character limit?

One new thing I like is the ability of the iPhone Twitterrific app to update my Twitter Location information. I've noticed that when I'm logged in and viewing my /home, the Location information is not shown. Instead, I have to look at my profile.

It would be nice if I could see my location from my /home. I was expecting to see it just under the "Currently" section that shows my latest tweet.

Also, is it be possible for other apps to read my Twitter location by the API in addition to setting it? I'm thinking it would be nice after I updated by Twitterrific, that location could get pushed to places like Brightkite or Fire Eagle.

Finally, could the location field be timestamped and/or API stamped?
It would be nice to see something like this: Location: Twitter HQ (set 08:19 AM July 12, 2008 by Twitterrific). This would be identical to how Tweets show time and API client.

I don't want Twitter to try to do all the things Brightkite, Whrrl, Loopt, etc. do, but a few tweaks to the already existing Location field could be very useful for people.

It's been nearly 3 months since IM went down. It's been 6 weeks since we had any kind of update. Please stop thanking me for my patience, it's run out. It's a bit disingenuous to continue using this in your marketing and more than a little frustrating that there is no hint of a solution.

Please, just remove the notice entirely. It's not currently offered by Twitter, it has been removed from us long-time tweeters, and is not available to new Twitter users.

I would like to see this feature:

there should be a command "block word: " similar to the command "track word:"
All tweets with this word should be blocked or all tweets with this word by a specific person should be blocked.

I would like to use this service to send my SVN commit messages to twitter. Some of my followers might be interested and some others might be disturbed by this.

Or do you think, I should use a second twitter account instead and follow this?

Hi guys,

You used to prefix all tweets on Facebook with "is twittering:", but now this is removed, anything sent in from Twitter we have to prefix ourselves, which doesn't fit in with how we broadcast status from Twitter/Phone.

I use twitter on my blog and to set my facebook status, and this discrepancy means I need to change the way I tweet, which isn't good!
