Recently active topics in Twitter tagged with @reply

Any incoming SMS tweet with an "@" symbol in it is blank after the "@". This happens on all U.S. Cellular phones, and I've heard it happens on other carriers as well. This was fixed on Verizon phones recently (see http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...") , but customers of other carriers have been left neglected. I know it takes getting a lot people together to fix this type of issue, but when half your tweets are blank it makes Twitter almost useless.

When people I follow send an @reply to a third party whom I am *not following*, I am seeing this @reply in my main feed. This topic seems to indicate other people having the same problem, but ThomasHan says here that that's how it's supposed to work. The instructions on the Settings page seem to me to say that I should NOT get these @replies to third parties if I am not following them... I should only get @replies when they are from someone I'm following, and also directed to someone else I'm following. Am I supposed to get them or not? If I *am*, then I think the instructions need clarification, and I would like an option so I can not get them. (Just to make sure that's absolutely clear - I want to see an @reply from someone I'm following, only if it's to someone else that I'm also following.)

Also, when someone I do NOT follow @replies me, it does not show up in my main feed (on my home page) - it seems like these @replies should also show up there, since they are directed at me, even though I'm not following that person.

Why am I seeing all the @ replies from one of my "following" to people I am not following despite to the fact I have the right setting under settings->notices?

When I get an @reply in my text messages, I only see the username who sent it, and not the text of the message or who it is directed to.
