Recently active problems in Twitter tagged with abuse

I'm being harassed on Twitter by this abusive person: twitter.com/markmayhew.

I reported the abuser to Twitter. They've "taken out of circulation" two of the impostor accounts. But the troll sets up new ones just as soon as the others are taken down.

Surely blocking the IP address is the only solution? Twitter tells me that's not their normal policy but are looking into it to see how much the TOS have been violated.

This person is in serous violation of #4: You must not abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate other Twitter users.

Numerous other Twitter members have reported this same person, yet he's still at large harassing, slandering and abusing me and many of my friends by pushing out offensive tweets.

@marismiith (2 i's in smith)
@whyfacebook (name of my blog)
@twittersqueeze (mimicking my friend @Rick_Butts)

This abusive person has been *banned* from Facebook and Wikipedia. It's time he was BANNED from Twitter.

I'm sure you know that you are having problem with spammer "chicks" from 6figureteam. Their photos are offensive and of course the faster I block the more they send. Isn't there something you can do? check out @black22 @nikebren22 @goodrichrich45 for examples! PLEASE! I'm clearly not the only one! Thank you and BLESSINGS!

I have received 3 new followers so far today. All 3 have exactly 2000 people they are following, and exactly 1 tweet each. The tweet says "i love it! - " and a tinyURL that leads to a dating site.

It's clearly a spam bot tuned to twitter. You need to stop it - perhaps you can detect a large number of follows happening quickly after signup???

I think its time for "report spam" to be added to user pages. Twitter is great that you pick who you want to follow but you can't pick who starts following you. It's great that I can block users that I want to but these people that are sending massive follows to various people for the purpose of spamming should be stoppd. The easiest way to do this would be when I click on the URL in the email I got from twitter there should be a "report spam" link on that user's page (well, on all user's pages). This would allow twitter to create algorythms to automatically suspend accounts. For instance, if a new user immediately gets 20 spam reports in a single day, they're suspended pending review whereas 1 spam report in a week could just be accidental and shouldn't be a cause for concern.

I personally think this isn't just a feature request but its almost urgent so that we (as a twitter community) can stop or at least slow this problem down before it becomes too big.

a guy juancarzola, seems to be doing something weird. He's following like 59,000 users on twitter and the website listed for his account shows a message that the services for his account have been discontinued - looks like message is from host.
