    I seem to be receiving direct messages fine much, but sending them isn't working.
    I receive the "Your message has been sent to..." error, but it never reaches the other person!

    i got a direct message from a twitterer who i follow, but when i tried to answer her, my message wouldn't go through. it said i may not be able to reply because twitterer may not be following me. but then how did she send me a direct message? and why can't i seem to reply?

    Reply/dm to all friends Last reply on May 13, 2008 20:25.

    I'd like to see a mechanism to reply to and send direct messages to all of my mutual friends at the same time. Since "friends" is a reserved name, this could be achieved by tweeting "@friends This is my reply" and "d friends This is my message." I realize the potential for spam is high, but the current mutual friends limitations should help mitigate that. Thanks!

    Twitter badge: can I exclude my own direct messages? Last reply on May 13, 2008 02:12.

    I use a Twitter Badge on my blog to show my tweets, but I don't want to show direct messages that I send on my blog. Is there any way to exclude my own direct messages from the badge, but include public tweets?

    Send bounce messages for mistyped @-messages Last reply on May 11, 2008 07:47.

    Occasionally I've started a message with "@whoever", but mistyped the "whoever". Of course then "whoever" doesn't see the message in their replies.

    It would be very helpful if, when a user tries to @-message someone and types a name that doesn't exist (obviously if the typo version does exist, there's no way to tell who was really being messaged), that the system could send a direct message saying "the username you just tried to message: '@whoeverr blah blah blah...' doesn't exist, please check."

    Could I view direct messages in my timeline, but still have them hidden from other users? Last reply on May 02, 2008 17:16.

    I would like to be able to view my direct messages in the timeline I see on my home page, but not have them become visible in my public timeline.

    I guess what I'm imagining is a setting allowing me to view all of my messages in one place rather than having to switch back and forth between my home page and my direct messages page. Other people looking at my timeline shouldn't see my direct messages, though.

    Oh, but it would be cool if they could see only those direct messages involving them as well.

    When someone sends me a Direct Message they show up in my timeline as "[sender] the message" as if I have posted this. What happened? How do I fix this? My twittername is frankmeeuwsen

    Google Talk on Blackberry quirk

    I use Google Talk (v2.0.43) on my Blackberry (Verizon 8130 Pearl v4.3.0.97) and the majority of the time when I send a direct message I have to send it twice before I get the confirmation. What's up with that?

    I can't use direct messaging. Do you have to have either IM or SMS enabled? I don't IM ... ever... and our plan charges 10 cents per SMS.
