every time i receive a direct message, it's postpended with a "reply with d USERNAME hello". cool. can i opt out of these instructions? they always spill into a second text message (i don't have unlimited SMS on my plan), and i don't really need to be reminded every time. maybe if i haven't received a direct message in a couple weeks? or if it could just be a preferences option to provide helphints or not.
I have it in my settings that direct messages should be sent to my cell phone, but they aren't coming through. I can send messages from my cell phone and I receive email notifications of direct messages, but I would like to get them pushed to my cell phone.
Direct messaging is not working for a number of people. Specifically, if you hit "reply" to a direct message or try to click on "message" on someone's individual page, you get the message "You must POST to this action!!" We are still able to DM someone by using the drop-down menu from the Direct Message page, but this is not as convenient.
can you set up twitter to send only direct messages and @ replies on your phone? i want to only receive @ replies and direct messages on my cell phone, any idea how i can do this?
I know I can set up SMS to just send me those messages that are sent directly to me but it would be good to also get any replies sent to me. Eg. those marked as @replies.
I want to receive all the @replies to me and tracks (if not replies, because I can track all the @Leech) via forced notification (like direct messages does).
It's working in that way or maybe tracks are case-sensitive and people that write: @leech instead of @Leech aren't catched by the Track?
I've invited a friend to twitter, who hooked up her phone. I've been sending her direct messages from web interface and it works great; gets delivered to her phone in a matter of seconds. We are in Croatia, Europe; the mobile provider is Tele2.
But now she tried to reply to one of the direct messages. She wrote "d Mislav hi ...", where "..." was the rest of her message. Obviously she thought that she must write "hi". Also, my username is "mislav", not "Mislav" (maybe this is relevant).
The problem: I received that message only *4 days after*. To make things weirder, it didn't come in the form of direct message, but appeared in my friends' timeline. It seems the direct message was posted to her public timeline.
She's using TwitterSync for Facebook. I've never had problems with that app, it justs reposts public tweets to Facebook status.
I have been sent numerous well i think at least 2 direct messages and i can't receive them. The person i am following i see every now and then and i was told that a direct message reply has been sent. I can't find it anywhere and my direct message thing is still on 0. I don't understand and i need this feature to work for me. What can i do to fix this?
I'd like a screen where multiple old direct messages can be deleted.
Current system requires much paging back, only delete one, and then it is back at page one again.
Why can't I erase a direct message? when I click the thrash button send me to a blank page with the text "This method requires a POST" and the message remains in the outbox.
I'm having a hard time deleting my direct messages. When I click the trash can on the left, I'm prompted with a pop-up box that asks me to confirm deleting the message. When I click "Yes," I immediately get this message on the next page:
Hi, I'm Italian, I'm trying to verify my number for the sms service but I don't know who do I have to send the code to! Is it a number? Anyway it's not displayed on the page... please help me! :P
At the end of last week suddenly I stopped recieving twitter SMS updates. I checked my quota and it was a mere 63 out of 250 so that was not the issue. I have IM turned OFF, Im using Three Mobile in the UK with the twitter number as: +447624801423
Notifications are ON. I have been developing a bot in which I have been testing. I still recieve all my updates to my twitter account yet they do not sent to my mobile. Is there an inactivity detection process to eleminate non-participating mobiles or anything that may have tunred my device off:?
I just had a great conversation with someone and the entire thing had to be translated from emails. None of the inbound DMs are showing in my inbox. Only the two most recent DMs from this discussion are showing up in my sent tab. Though older messages are still there.
I've just found a small quirk/bug. I'm trying to clear out the direct messages I've sent. So I go to direct messages, go to the sent folder and click the trash icon next to one message then hit OK (or, if I can get in there quick enough, for two or three messages, but I can only click on another when I've OKed deleting the first). So far so good. But what happens next?
It reloads the inbox.
I am trying to delete about 25 messages and each time it takes me back to the inbox, which is making the whole process more fiddly/time-consuming. Might not sound like a big deal but repeat it 15 times and trust me, you'll be sick of it too. Why doesn't it reload the sent folder instead of reverting back to the inbox? And why not have the ability to select more than one message for deletion with checkboxes or similar?
