notify me of new followers via sms. that could be nice. i have never received an e-mail notifying me of new followers and i have double checked the settings. but i would really prefer to get the notices via txt. though, since i'm not getting them via e-mail, i guess my point is moot. but still, it would be a nice feature.
Why is no one getting email notices for new friend adds or DM notifications?
As of yesterday (4/11 at about 4pm pacific) emails alerting of either new followers or arrival of DMs stopped.
Checking with Following list - this seems to be the state for pretty much everyone. Is there a system issue? Are you aware? Is there an ETA on the fix?
Have tried selecting and unselecting following notifications in preferences to see if that affects - no impact.
Twitter commands give you control of notifications, and access to fun features. Send commands from phone, IM, most 3rd party applications, and the web box.
It seems like I stopped getting emails a week or two ago. Plus Jabber/IM has been down forever. I have no idea what's going on in Twitter now, and I don't have time to visit the site regularly.
Why can't I receive updates on my mobile phone? I live in the Philippines and until last Monday I'm not receiving any twitter updates, even if I have reset my notification settings, and even if I have turned notifications on and off several times already. Uh, help?
There is a problem in my Device updates status every time i set it up to "on" status and click save it told me that my setting has been saved but when I come back to twitter again to check why i didn't receive the sms yet i found the Device updates status is "OFF" and always "OFF" i checked everything else " following, Device updates" everything is ok......
My twitter acc is private. I get emails telling me that I have a new followers... but no notification to accept he's request is showed. WTF? Doesn't I supposed to accept his request before he can see my updates?
It used to work before, my acc still private... but does that mean that they are seeing my updates? If not... where can I accept or deny their requests?

I have my "sleep" under "Notices" turned on from 8:00pm to 8:00am. I don't get tweets to my phone during this time, which is great. However looking at my AT&T bill and it shows

Therefore I'm now over in my SMS allowance, and have to pay for SMS msgs I don't see / receive! What's going on?
SMS was working fine. Then i turned notifications off. When I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't work. I then deleted my device to try to add it again, but now I do not get a response when I send the verification code.
Whenever I update Twitter using my phone, I get an SMS to my phone as if I was following myself. I don't want to get a text message every time I tweet I only want to get one when people I am following tweet.

The link to the new follower does not work. The correct link (as seen in my actual followers list) is http://twitter.com/kenbrief . The follower's username is kenbrief, and real name is kenlewis.
It would be really helpful if new follower notifications Twitter sends via email included the number of followers this person has. I get notifications from random people and I've never added anyone who follows more than a few hundred people (usually people trying to game twitter). That is, the notification email "So-and-so is following you" is much less helpful than "So-And-so is following you. She is following 30,000 people."
SMS tracking does not work.
Direct notifications work A-OK. But if I txt "track half_brick" to twitter, it says I'm tracking, but when tweets come up on my timeline I never get notified.
I'm in NZ on Vodafone, and this feature used to work.
Oh you make me so sad twitter.
EDIT: I should also mention that I have friends in NZ also on Vodafone not recieveing tracks. Have also tried untracking and retracking.
I'm only getting cell phone updates for a few of the people I'm following. 2, to be exact. Those tweets come regularly and are fine, but I'm not getting any from the other people I'm following.
For somebody I am following, I would like to have have device update to be ON for IM, but device update OFF for SMS. Basically I don't want their updates coming to my mobile phone, but I do want to see their updates via IM. Is it possible to manage device updates on a per device, per followee basis?
So while I was in the shower tonight I started thinking (because I always think about Twitter in the shower) that being able to follow both users and words is great, but pretty soon I'm going to start needing more control over what gets sent to my phone. I'd love to be able to block only certain terms (I really don't care about your iphone) or send messages from some people to IM and others via SMS. It would also be great to see facebook style rate limiting for certain zealous users (could also affectionately be called Nate limiting) who do interesting things but can be a bit overwhelming to get every update.
I've got some ideas on how to implement some of this functionality with a client-side app, but before I spend the weekend on it I'd love to hear where Twitter's thoughts are along these lines.
