Recently active topics in Twitter tagged with refresh

Why won't twitter allow me to follow anyone? When I click on "follow" on any twitter channel, it first tells me I'm now following that person, and then a box appears and tells me something went wrong and I should refresh the page and try again. I do, but it doesn't help. Can you help me?

I'm trying to follow someone on Twitter and when I click "follow" a message pops up that says "Something went wrong! Please refresh the page and try again." Even after refreshing the page, I can't follow them. What's wrong?

Follower counts are decreasing by 1 every time I refresh! I've dropped 9 followers in 2 hours. This is happening to others too.

I would like my Twitter page to automatically refresh. I know I can do this through Safari, but I don't want all my pages to refresh, just Twitter. Is that possible? It is very annoying to have to manually refresh my page all day long. I am using Twitterrific, which does auto refresh, but I don't like it covering up my screen all day long. HELP!! I love Twitter but it needs to auto refresh.
