Having problems setting up Twitter on my cell. I keep placing in my number with the country code and then send the verification code to the US short code. But I get nothing back in return.

I am from India and tried registering my mobile as per the instructions. I SMSed the code to the given number 5566511. But, I got the following response:

"The service is unavailable temporarily"

I am not sure if this is known issue or not and what is expected time to solve this.

I cant update my twitter status from India using SMS

So I have a Nokia 6126 on Cincinnati Bell, and trying to verify using the 40404 short code isn't working. I have since discovered that CBW blocks the 40404 code. My phone doesn't do email, and I don't have a mobile web plan so that would be too expensive. Are there any other ways I can circumvent this problem?

I am in Canada (using 21212 through MTS Mobility) and getting charged for every text I send to Twitter. I just got off the phone with MTS (yet again) and they assure me that the money is not charged by them, but by the company behind the shortcode (Twitter) and therefore sent directly to Twitter by MTS.

Either Twitter is getting money from the phone company for what is supposed to be a free service, or the money is getting lost in the shuffle. All I know is that I'm getting charged and the bill points to Twitter.

I'd like to talk to an actual rep from Twitter on this, since good intentioned assumptions will do nothing for me or my phone bill.

I have a T-Mobile phone with pay-as-you-go service and I want to set it up with Twitter to both send and receive updates. Is this possible? When I tried to verify my phone I got an error message. I see a lot of discussion on Get Satisfaction about T-Mobile blocking Twitter but I don't know enough about how Twitter works on phones and about SMS to know whether my situation is possible. Help? I sent the verification code to 40404, but had no response. I tried sending a shortcode to Google, no response. My friend has Sprint and has no trouble with shortcodes. I called Sprint support and they acted like they had never heard of shortcodes or Twitter. What can I do?

There seems to be conflicting data, the site says to use the +44 number, but the faq says to use some other numbers. Either way, its been a hour, and I can not SMS to twitter. Is there a delay?
