Any incoming SMS tweet with an "@" symbol in it is blank after the "@". This happens on all U.S. Cellular phones, and I've heard it happens on other carriers as well. This was fixed on Verizon phones recently (see http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...") , but customers of other carriers have been left neglected. I know it takes getting a lot people together to fix this type of issue, but when half your tweets are blank it makes Twitter almost useless.

Quite frustrating when I have twitter set to send updates to my phone. People will direct message or reply to me but I don't see those messages, just regular random twits so it gives the appearance I am ignoring them

I made an account today, and seemed to get along fine with everything with no problem until I tried to verify my mobile device.

I followed all instructions; I put my phone number in the little box, clicked the button, and it gave me a code and a number to send the code to. I did just that, and it sent me back a reply asking for security measures, what my name was. I have a terrible memory, and thought they had asked my name when I registered; so I put 'Ashley'. Send. It sent me back a message saying I was set up for the account Ashley35. And I kind of went, "Uh, what the heck?" I searched up the username, and low and behold, every message I had sent via text was on this 'Ashley35' account. With some fooling around on Twitter, I managed to sign in on that account, delete my mobile number from it, and delete the account.

So I did something wrong, right? I figured if I just tell them what my username is, there isn't a problem. It should work this time.

Re-logged in on my account.

This time, when I verified my number and gave them my username, they made ANOTHER account and all it did was tack on the little number one to the end of the username I ALREADY had. What the heck, again! So I did the same thing with the first account; got into that account it just created, deleted my number, deleted the account.

So now, I have no way of setting up my mobile number for twitter, because it just keeps creating me a new account when I want to use my own!

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Hi, I verified my phone with Twitter but responded to the initial text from Twitter with my actual name rather than my Twitter username. How do I sync my phone with the correct Twitter account?

Cannot activate my mobile with Twitter, I have no response to SMS with the activation code.
I have sent some SMS to +447624801423, but never received a reply from twitter.

The SMS PIN thing doesn't seem to work for me. Leaving it blank (it's optional, isn't it?) produces the 'Invalid PIN' response.

I also tried to set a PIN, but after hitting 'Save' the PIN field would reset itself to NULL again. I'm lost...

My sms messages are just coming through as a string of letters, numbers and characters -- no sense!

I'm getting tweets from someone via SMS that I'm not following and has his tweets listed as private.

sms message cannot be displayed on my phone. They arrive either as junk or garbled characters, or the phone gives an error saying cannot display message.

Is there any progress in getting a fix for text messages to NZ mobiles coming through as symbols and gibberish yet? It has been more than 4 months since the problem was first reported now.
Is there any indication as to why it is happening? Is the system trying to encode into an incorrect character set or something?

alex_mayorga is not receiving tweets on Movistar in Mexico.

My SMS counter is 0/250 and I used to get them just fine in the past I even tried to re/register my cell, but I didn't get the confirmation back.

I am in Canada (using 21212 through MTS Mobility) and getting charged for every text I send to Twitter. I just got off the phone with MTS (yet again) and they assure me that the money is not charged by them, but by the company behind the shortcode (Twitter) and therefore sent directly to Twitter by MTS.

Either Twitter is getting money from the phone company for what is supposed to be a free service, or the money is getting lost in the shuffle. All I know is that I'm getting charged and the bill points to Twitter.

I'd like to talk to an actual rep from Twitter on this, since good intentioned assumptions will do nothing for me or my phone bill.

Today I have sent "HELP" several times to Twitter, and only got a response 1/3 of the time. I have tried it with two different phones (although they're both part of the same Sprint plan).

This happens with other commands also. "WHOIS" is not answering sometimes, too. This might explain too why an update I made via my phone didn't show up on the web.

My guess is that you guys are not receiving some SMS messages, and that sucks, because 80% of my Twitter activity is via my phone.

We have a phone connected to twitter and verified (and it can send twitters), but nothing is received. Twitters do not get to the phone, and sending 'on' doesn't get any response. The phone number was recently changed on the phone, however it can receive SMS messages from other phones. Canadian phone, on Bell (I think?).
