followadd.net keeps sending messages though my twitter account and I'm not liking it. Did not give them permission to use my account. I already checked my twitter account to make sure. need help!!!!

There are usually a few tweets by given users that I want to ignore without unfollowing the user, it would be very useful to be able to ignore tweets based on substring patterns or regexp, either for a given user or for all users.
The same could be useful for highlighting certain tweets.
This could be either implemented on the service itself (webpage and api) or it could be implemented in the 3rd party applications, e.g. Tweetdeck

MY Tweets are NOT being seen. Ex: If I write about resumes, then search resumes, I no longer show in the feed. Why happening / how do I fix it?

I did send a 'direct' message to twitter's spam folks, but no response. There does not seem to be any way to OPEN a TROUBLE TICKET???

I'm stuck with a useless account that no one can SEE!

YES: it's my fault, I'm sure, because I 'fell' for the Twitter Train thing until I was able to change my password twice to fix that, but my tweets still go nowhere.

HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP!

It seems that almost every time I post any kind of update, I always get an e-mail saying that someone has begun following me, and they are usually people who are following a lot of people but have few actual followers. I am getting really sick of the follower spam, and it's getting to the point where I'm starting to dread updating twitter because of the inevitable cycle of posting, getting followed, getting an e-mail and then blocking the person (or, more likely, bot).

Is there anything I can do to reduce my follower spam? For the last half dozen updates I've made, I've picked up at least 1 unknown follower each time and I do not want them. I enjoy twitter because it is quick and easy (I update twitter / facebook etc. all using ping.fm), but it's not quick if I have to block someone every time I make an update.

Last week, Mashable wrote an excellent post called 'Is Twitter About to Have a Big Spam' problem. One of the suggestions that was proposed is requiring captcha when following new people on Twitter. Yes, this would probably result in complaints from people who like the one-click follow option that is available today. But there are just too many people abusing the one-click Follow feature today through the use of bots and screen-scraping tools to "mass follow" hundreds of people in a short amount of time in an attempt to build their audience on Twitter.

There are a few ways to make the captcha less intrusive to users who are not abusing the Follow feature.

1. Only require captcha after someone has followed a large number of people (e.g. 200) in a short period of time

2. Only require captcha sporadically - e.g. after adding the 25th friend, after the 50th friend, etc.

Please consider adding this feature soon because we don't want Twitter to turn in to MySpace and there are clear signs that it's going in that direction.

Facebook won't let me link to twitter without unprotecting my updates. I get a lot of spam and illegitimate or porn people follower requests and I don 't want them to just be able to follow me carte blanche or access my followers or who I am following. When I click on new follower requests it is now invariably either someone who is "posting new hot pics" on a provided url which leads to a porn or kinky dating site or I click and twitter leads me to a page saying the user is suspended.

Will I really get more quality "twitter experience" unprotecting my updates? Will I get new follower updates when someone folllows me anyway so I can check them and block any unwanted people? And will this solve the facebook problem? Help! Thanks! Melody

Spammers Tweets showing up in Followers list

When you click on someone's followers - it now shows all of the followers last Tweet. That is a big problem if they are a spam site with explicit and inappropriate messages. I maintain the Twitter account for my school and I had some spammers add me - makes it look a lot worse when their previous Tweet shows up with four letter words and explicit things that I would not want linked to a school website.

I know I can protect my profile - but I like having the widget on the school website showing the previous Tweets. If I protect the profile then that doesn't show up and people must join Twitter to see the updates.

Perhaps if Twitter added two modes of protection 1. Protecting your updates so you must be an approved follower to see ANY updates or 2. You can see the updates but the moderator must approve any followers before they can be added to the follower list.

Please add a REPORT SPAMMER button in the Following Me list. At the same time, have the blocked user hidden from the list as the BLOCKED Users start to clutter the list I actually want to see. It helps you and helps us.

I just noticed this a few minutes ago when a friend of mine posted up a tweet with the following content:

100% FREE LIVE CAMS EMAIL REQ ONLY NO $$ SPENT JUST CONFIRM AND LOG IN www.tinyurl.com/freecamslut CHECK EMAIL AFTER U ENTER IT MJ's

You can see a lot more if you check out the MJs trending topic link. Looks like there's some funky hackery going on.

Edit: I forgot to mention that these posts are coming from regular old members, not any of the typical porn spammers. Apologies.

for a few days now this http://followadd.net/ website has been sending out messages on my twitter account, since my account is linked to facebook ect this is becoming very annoying not only to myself but also to others. i am not sending these messages from this site out and have been to the site and there is no contact information or a way to get rid of it.

i have noticed you are extrememly helpful with others...i am hoping you can help me next! my tweets arent showing up in the search or in the trending topics. a couple of my friends @greenthumbnails, @WeStandAs1 and myself @pattyblake are all having the same issue. PLEASE HELP US! if i did something wrong please let me know so i dont do it again. I am new to twitter and would like to continue to use it, but its kinda pointless if the tweets arent showing up in the topics.

My blog is being overwhelmed with "test" comments from Twitter. These tests are randomly being assigned to my posts.

Here are 5 examples from Tweetback. I have 45 of these waiting moderation.

I just signed up with Twitter and there are 20 people that I did not choose to follow that I am receiving updates from. I tried blocking a couple of them and that didn't work. When I look at my profile and click on "following" it only shows the people I have chosen. Can someone get rid of these unwanted tweets for me?
