1 cell phone, 3 Twits, what now?
Why can't I update all of my twitter accounts from the same cell phone? I have one cell phone and three accounts for the various parts of my life. What can I do to SMS all three?

Inappropriate? To tweet from your cellphone, you send an SMS text message to Twitter's SMS number for your country (USA: 40404; Canada: 21212; most of the world: +44...) just as you would send an SMS to an individual person.
So to avoid confusion, each cellphone number can be linked to only one Twitter account: Twitter receives an SMS from your number and recognises from its 'phonebook' that the SMS is from your Username.
You'd have that kind of confusion on your phone if e.g. your father has just one cellphone number, but you entered it three times into your cellphone's phonebook with three different names:
• Dad
• Zapola, Sr.
• Zapola Inc. CEO
When he called you (or sent you an SMS), your phone would display whichever name it first found that matched his number.
A dual-SIM cellphone with two SIM cards for two different cellphone numbers would provide a partial solution - but I guess you won't want to go that route.
If your mobile carrier has a reasonable data tariff for mobile internet, you could access Twitter via mobile sites such as
• http://m.twitter.com
• http://twitter.com via a mobile browser such as Opera Mini
• http://dabr.co.uk
or via various Java applications for your mobile phone.
Here in Germany, cellity Tweeter consumes minimal data traffic on my rather old Siemens MC60 phone (carrier: simyo), and I can send 2 or 3 tweets and read the latest 20 tweets in my timeline for 1/40th the cost of a single SMS to Twitter.
But that's just what works for me: see http://twitter.com/downloads for a small selection of other mobile applications.
So you could update one of your Twitter accounts via SMS, and access the other two (or even all three) via mobile internet - if that's financially viable.
I’m hoping this helps.
