@replies only work when the @reply is at the beginning of the message
I have noticed that '@replies' only show up in my replies tab when the @reply is the first thing in the message. I know that myself and a lot of other people send messages like: "that guy @bs is totally rad!". 'bs' links within the tweet, but won't show up in his replies tab.
I guess that was more of a statement than a question...so here's my question: Can you make @replies from anywhere in a message show up in my replies tab?
Sweet!

Inappropriate?hi w1redone,
Per request from Leslie from this other thread, she wanted me to share this with you.

Inappropriate?@names inside of a message will be linked, but they currently aren't set in your reply tab. The reason being that if you talk about multiple people in the context of a message, how do you determine who the message is actually in reply to?
You can get the same functionality though by "tracking" your username from IM or SMS. So send "track w1redone", etc.
I'd love to hear ideas though relating to how this could be done in the web.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?TweetDeck already has this functionality, so it's technically possible, but it would be nice to see it on the web page.

Inappropriate?Twhirl does this too, but yeah, you'd think it would be on the main page too. And rename it from @replies to @mentions or something, as someone else suggested somewhere else around here.
I’m making a statement.
