"Something is technically wrong" everywhere
I'm taken to the "Something is technically wrong" page whenever I visit /home, /friends, /followers pages. This has been happening since this weekend, and at first I thought it was a problem with the site, but it seems no one else is having this problem? Or if they are, I'm not finding anything discussed about it.
Any idea what's going on?
Signing out and back in and using various browsers/computers isn't changing anything.

Inappropriate?me too. i have two twitters accounts, the other is fine! just started having this problem a few days ago. i just cannot access the HOME page to read the tweets. oh well. I'm using twirl anyway.
accessing /friends /followers worked ok for me
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, I'm having this issue. My account got reactivated, and everytime I login, it just gives me this page. Same on different browsers and different networks. Strangely, I can login and tweet on any of the third party apps without any trouble.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Zcott, sounds like your problem is related to this other thread.
-
Inappropriate?I already went through everything in that thread, and got it sorted out. My account has been reactivated, and I've been updating from various third party clients. However, anytime I visit twitter.com, I'm getting the "something is technically wrong" message.
-
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I meant to say that it sounds like your account has been fully restored. It might be a good idea to submit a support request directly at http://twitter.com/help -
I would submit a support request there .... but I get the "something is technically wrong" message on that page, too...! -
Inappropriate?Yikes! That's really strange!
I just checked now and the Help page loads correctly for me.
Also, I just went to http://twitter.com/zcott and the page loads correctly also. Do you think it's possible that refreshing your browser cache will clear things up for you?
In Firefox: Tools menu --> Options --> Advanced --> Network tab --> [Clear Now] button. -
Inappropriate? For the time being, this problem has stopped for me.
*knock on wood*
Browser cache had nothing to do with it in my case (multiple computers, browsers, etc). I had the same thing where 3rd party apps would work, but twitter.com did not. If I visited my own URL or someone else's URL, it would work, but I couldn't visit the /home, /friends, /followers pages. -
Inappropriate?Quick bump, I'm still having this issue and it shows no signs of disappearing.
-
Fwiw, I just logged a help request on your behalf (since http://twitter.com/help doesn't seem to load properly for you). I included a link to this topic thread so they can see the details. -
Inappropriate?Zscott, just got a reply from Twitter support:
Hi,
Thanks for your email. This is a bug; we're working on fixing it. I'll be in touch with him when we've resolved it. Thanks for your help btw. -
Twitter user name please? -
sthulbourn -
Okay, I've just added your user name to the same Help Request that I had logged for Zcott, since you both experience the same problem. -
Inappropriate?I get the same error after reactivating my account (my account: MRiGnS).
Deleting cookies get's me logged out and renders it possible for me to read the public time line and even to access my own twitter page.
As soon as I log in with whatever browser it stops working completely and I get the error page again. -
Hi. I just added your name to the same support ticket that the other guys in this thread are on. -
thank you very much -
This is the exact same problem I'm experiencing. -
Inappropriate?zcott, MRiGnS and sthulbourn your accounts have been fixed. Please give it another go and let us know if you're still experiencing errors.
I’m confident

Thanks. -
Can you sort mine out too please Mark? My Username is CraftyFella -
Hey, Mark -- I couldn't really find where to add my own original post to this problem, so I'm copying and pasting my email that I sent to support@twitter.com to see if I can get some immediate help on the situation. Please read and get back to me at your earliest convenience. Thanks...
Today, I changed my twitter account (http://www.twitter.com/clarkkent23) in to my business page by changing the username to DLYDJ (http://www.twitter.com/dlydj).
Afterwards, I created a NEW account using my old account name. I was using different browsers for each (Firefox for DLYDJ & Safari for CK23). For some reason, Twitter logged me out of the Firefox account, changed the DLYDJ to CK23 (which I saw via my Safari account) and when I tried to log into the DLYDJ account, I kept getting this:
"Something is technically wrong."
I also attached a screen grab of what appeared on my screen and sent it out to support@twitter.com. (10/3/09) -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same issue. I also reactivated my account recently (which didn't went without trouble...).
My username: Marre
I’m extremely frustrated with twitter at the moment
-
Inappropriate?Hello. I deleted my account on February and restored it recently. After some initial problems with the restoration I managed to make my account visible at
http://twitter.com/hackett4life
however when I try to login I always get the error message: 'Something is technically wrong'.
I would be very thankful if somebody could delete my account completely. It doesn't mind if i loose all my twitts because what I really want is start from zero with the same username.
Regards.
I’m waiting for a solution
-
Inappropriate?I restored a deleted account about 3 weeks ago, but I am still unable to login.
I can post trough 3rd party apps like twitterrific.
my account: http://twitter.com/dirtyboe
To me is "technically wrong" everywhere: please help!
I’m sad
-
Hello. Kindly log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help describing your problem, so someone from support can look at the account. -
Inappropriate?I just submitted two tickets, but when I check their status I get back this error: "This access key is not on file".
By the way, thank you!
-
Inappropriate?Hi Nicola. I was getting the 'access key not on file' error a couple of weeks ago also -- apparently, the access key was invalidated because they migrated to a new support system.
But they've since stabilized the system and the access keys for new tickets are valid again. I was able to log a new ticket earlier today with a valid access key, so it's a bit disturbing to hear that your ticket is giving you that error.
I’m concerned
-
Inappropriate?I'm having the same " technically wrong" message. I tried to log a complaint and got the same message. I just opened my account yesterday and haven't been able to access anything.

Inappropriate?I'm having the same " technically wrong" message. I signed up today, and during the invite your friends screen it happened, and since then any time i go to twitter.com i get that error message.

Inappropriate?Since two days i have been experiencing this problem as well. Every user page I click it just tells me "Something is technically wrong."

Inappropriate?Having this same error with an account I created for my mom. Changing the password doesn't fix it.
I’m angry

Inappropriate?Although this was originally reported four months ago I have been having exactly this problem for the last four days. I set up a new account on my alternative e-mail and the same exact thing happened. It is very disappointing
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi all. In case you haven't done so yet, please send an email to support AT twitter DOT com.
In that email (not here please), it will be helpful if you could provide:
(1) a description of your problem,
(2) your username,
(3) the email address that you used to register your account (if you remember it)
(4) an indication of when you first encountered this problem and how long the problem has existed.
When Twitter's support system receives your email, it will automatically create a support ticket for you, and it will send back to you a confirmation email that contains the ticket number assigned to your issue. I usually receive the confirmation email within minutes of sending my own email to the support system. The confirmation email will also have a link that you can click to view your support ticket online.
Based on activity in other threads, it seems that Twitter Support is currently dealing with a backlog of support requests, so it may take a while (5 to 8 working days) before you get an actual reply. But at least your support issue will already be in their queue.

Inappropriate?Getting the same problem on a new Twitter account I made via the browser on my iPhone. Don't think it's iPhone-related with all these other folks having the same problem. Will email support AT twitter DOT com per mdy's suggestion above.

Inappropriate?I don't know if it will make any difference, but figured I'd share the info...
Someone in another thread said that they just added additional info to their Twitter profile and the 'something is technically wrong' problem on their home page disappeared.
For details, kindly see click this link.
I’m undecided

Yep, I think that fixed the problem for my cousin's account (I logged into his acct to fix it for him. I commented in Trucklebed's post that you link to letting everyone know that I believe I have success with this) -
thanks a lot - this solved the problem for me :) -
Inappropriate? This was due to a bug, which has since been fixed. If updating and saving new profile information does not fix it for you, please let us know.

That did not work for me! My username is Kelbells8 -
Inappropriate?Password Reset worked for me...Thanks to Mayowa (Check above for the comments)....
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Twitter rejects my user name (or email address) and my correct password. Twitter claims that these are incorrect. My username and profile appear at twitter.com/username as normal.
I have followed the Twitter instructions for password reset five times over two days. Each time that I attempt to log in, Twitter rejects my attempt. Twitter continuously claims that my user name (or email address) and/or password are wrong.
This is the third day. On the first day, Twitter showed a page with four cartoon images. This page said something like "Technical problem. We are aware of this problem and we will fix this soon." About 24 hours later, Twitter no longer displayed that page.
Twitter now merely says that my username and/or email and/or password are incorrect. I have deleted from my Mac the two Twitter client apps that I had downloaded (Tweetdeck and one other major one that I can't remember just now). I used each of these once, but preferred the Web interface, so I never used these apps beyond the first attempt.
The failure that I am describing in this post also occurs when I attempt to login at the Twitter Help page.
Prior to the problem reported in this email, my Twitter account was one of the Twitter accounts that tweeted automatically on behalf of StalkDaily. I erased that tweet. I saw only the one automatic tweet about StalkDaily and I observed nothing more from them.
I am running Safari 3.2.1 on Mac OS-X 10.5.6. I have reset Safari, purging cache, cookies, etc. several times. I have set my browser _not_ to block popups.
Please help. I like Twitter and I am keen to use Twitter again.
I’m growing bitter.

Others may appreciate one solution that I have found.
Twitter was rejecting my user name (or email address) and my correct password. Twitter claimed that these are incorrect. My username and profile appeared at twitter.com/username as normal.
I followed the Twitter instructions for password reset many times over three days. However, each time that I attempted to log in, Twitter rejected my attempt. Despite all efforts, Twitter continuously claimed that my user name (or email address) and/or password were wrong.
I discovered that all of the password reset links provided by Twitter over these three days were "broken". That is, when I clicked on the link, a portion of the link was not underlined as hypertext. Moreover, the link was not provided once; it was repeated. Like this Like this. ...such that I had a "double" link connected as one... and part of both links was not underlined as a hyperlink.
I was able to reset my password by manually copying a portion of the double and broken link and pasting this into my browser. When I did this, Twitter opened my profile and displayed two boxes: "New password" and "Confirm new password".
If you are going in circles whilst following Twitter's repeated instructions to reset your password, look carefully at the link that Twitter provides. Manually copy and past only the portion that looks like this:
http:// twitter.com/account/password_reset?email=AAAA [at] AAAA.com&token=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
When the preceding arrived in my email inbox from Twitter, it was not clear as you see in my example. It was repeated twice and it was preceded and punctuated (in the middle) with additional hyperlink text. This additional hyperlink text was broken and did not function as a hyperlink.
The example above substitutes the capital letter, A, for my email address and for the special code, or token, that Twitter provides which will open your profile and allow you to specify a new password.
In the example above, I have added two blank spaces between http:// and the twitter.com domain so that this URL will not become a hyperlink. (ie: so that you can read all of the characters)
If the preceding is old hat, I apologize. If it should help anybody else... then we're all better off. Thank you. -
Inappropriate?Ok, I also have this problem, every time I log on I get the something is technically wrong page. I tried to reset my password also and that didnt work. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. My username is Kelbells8. Thank you!
I’m anxious & frustrated
