@ Wits End w/ My Twitter Password
Saturday evening I attempted to reset my Twitter password. I didn't receive a 'reset password' email. I logged onto 'Get Satisfaction' Sunday afternoon and received this message:
Hello. If you don't receive password reset emails, there can be two possible reasons:
1. The email address in your Twitter account is either wrong or has a typo (this is unlikely if you used to receive new follower notifications or copies of direct messages)
2. Your ISP or email provider is currently blocking emails from Twitter or is classifying such emails as spam (especially since a lot of DM notification emails were recently sent out with links to a phishing site)
So the recommended course of action is as follows:
1. Try using the password reset feature at http://twitter.com/account/resend_pas... one last time. You can enter either your username or your email address at that form
Check your spam folders just to be sure there's no password reset email there.
2. If the password reset form doesn't work, log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help and in that ticket indicate (a) your username, (b) the email address that you had used to register the account, and (c) any alternate email addresses you may have
If you've been tweeting with your phone, it will help if you can also state your phone number in the ticket (since that can help verify that you really own the account).
3. If you do not receive an auto-generated confirmation email from the Support system to acknowledge your ticket (this usually takes less than 10 minutes), then there's a good chance that your ISP or email provider is indeed blocking all emails from Twitter. This means that any replies from Twitter support will likewise not reach you by email.
For such cases, Twitter has a fallback email address that you can use. It's described in this other thread (click to see). Please remember to include your alternate email addresses.
I followed the instructions to the end and emailed the 'fallback email address'. I received this automated message:
Hi there,
Having trouble logging in? Common reasons for not receiving password resets are mail bouncing/blocks, or misspelled email addresses. Common reasons for not being able to log in are cached passwords or incorrectly copied passwords from the reset email (make sure you didn't copy an extra space before or after the password!)
Please try clearing your browser cache and resetting your password by entering the email address associated with your Twitter account here:
http://twitter.com/account/resend_pas...
If you've tried this with no success, please reply to this email with your Twitter user name and the email address associated with your account, and let us know what went wrong:
* Did you receive the password reset email? (If not, no need to answer the questions below)
* Was the password we sent you invalid?
* What error, if any, did you see when you tried logging in with the password we sent you?
I followed those instructions and replied to the email address (I'm not sure if listing the email address here is important) with my Twitter name, email address, cell number for my SMS messages and TWO alternate email addresses (a gmail and a yahoo address). It is Monday afternoon and I have yet to receive a response.
My Twitter username is @Luvologist and my email address is luvologist at luvologist dot com.
I realize there have been a few isolated phishing incidents. It was the reason why I wanted to change my password. But I am locked out of my Twitter account and I am in need of a solution.
Creating another Twitter account is NOT an option because the Twitter name I am using is branded. I would like some help to resolve this matter.
Thank you for your immediate attention.

Inappropriate?I am in exactly the same boat. This is very frustrating. It would be great if we could get some feedback from Twitter on this as soon as possible.

Inappropriate?Same problem. They send the reset email to the correct email, but then when I follow that link, they don't recognize the email. Have done all the other tricks as well, but nothing is working.
I’m frustrated and now? cranky.

Inappropriate?I was out for vacations in august, and some friends of mine told me my twitter account was hacked and a spam message was sent to my contact and reported on my timeline.
When i went back home, after a couple of week, the spam message was not present anymore, but i'm not able to access to my twitter account, trying either the original username and password or the password reset, but i didn't recive any email. What can i do? probably they changed the password and the refernce email.
I’m frustrated
