I first got this message several days ago. Since then I have had several dozen new followers and have deleted about 200 from the list of those I was following; however, I am still unable to follow any new people or to even return follow those who are newly following me.
I understand that Twitter has following limits; however, I am only following less than 1,750 and have over 1,300 followers. It seems to me that those are fairly reasonable ratios?

Inappropriate?The help section says that this issue is fixed http://help.twitter.com/forums/31935/... but I'm afraid it has not been fixed. Im following less than 1000 followers and still I get this error.
Seems like one of those issues which Twitter has given up now since the comments to the above link are closed. Even after the huge funding if this is a problem Twitter needs to get its house in order or it will die.
