Airtel India tweet service

In India Airtel started the twitter service through their short service nos. 53000. I could validate my device. But even after sending the 'ON' sms to 53000, I am not receiving sms from the people I am following. Similarly the accounts following me are not able to get my sms. I have tried the option of 'on' and 'direct messages' on the device updates.
