Another Borked Restore Loop Victim

I was having problems, so I deleted my account
Twitter said "do you want to restore your account?"
I clicked for the verification email to start the restore process.
Twitter never sends the verification email.
I created another account to search for the "deleted" account.
I searched and found the original account still intact.
Twitter will not let me login to the original account
Twitter will not restore the original account so that I can access it.
I am stuck!
