Auto-following is enabled by default? How to disable?
Why do I auto-follow some new followers and not all? I would rather not auto-follow anyone! I never asked to auto-follow people. Now with the spammers this is getting especially annoying. How to disable?

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.

Inappropriate?Auto-follow isn't enabled by default. Twitter users have to request it via the Twitter help form. If you believe Twitter has turned auto-follow on for your account, you can use the same form to request that they disable it.
But since your account is auto-following and you haven't asked Twitter to enable auto-follow, I can only guess that it's a third-party service that's doing this.
For example, if you use SocialToo.com, it will automatically follow back anyone who follows you on Twitter as long as they're not on your Socialtoo blacklist.
Similarly, the TweetLater.com service can auto-follow anyone who follows you if your settings ask it to do so.
If you can't remember all the third-party services you've tried, but would like to be sure that no third-party app can auto-follow on your behalf, I suggest changing your Twitter password.
I’m in a good mood

Okay I did as you suggested, and I'll come back and let you know if it solves the problem. Really good idea, thanks! -
Inappropriate?i think socialtoo.com is what was causing twitter to autofollow. just unchecked that option so hopefully it solves the problem.

Inappropriate?Victoria - The socialtoo.com fix worked for me. The auto follow madness has stopped and I finally have control of my buddy list on twiiter lol I hope this works for others.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Am fairly sure I turned on an autofollow at one of the 3rd party services when I started with twitter. Now I have no idea which one it was. LOL.
