auto-shorten urls?
twitter used to automatically shorten urls I posted, but that seems to have stopped working lately... what happened? I know I could get around this by using twirl, but it was a really nice feature!

Inappropriate? They now appear to shorten virtually every URL I post, which is annoying because I do not want them to shorten my URLs without asking. I wish this were a configurable option. Many times the URL conveys information about the page you are linking to and I don't want it mangled.

Inappropriate?I agree with Eric. I don't want URL's shortened automatically. I want to see what the link is. If I want to shorten it, I can with Twhirl or something else. Or at least make it a configuration option.

Inappropriate? Here's my take on how it should be addressed: Whenever posting to twitter, I have to take my links and go to tinyurl.com to convert them before inserting them into the tweet. Twitter should do this automatically for links that are posted, unless the user explicitly says they don't want URL shortening to happen.
I’m slightly bothered

Inappropriate?I recognized that with my tweets it just shortened certain URLs. The one of my blog not, a link to a video was shortened. Maybe that depends on the length of the URL, like if it links directly to a main page (like a blog) or to a thing like video on youtube with a kind of more complicated URL.

Inappropriate?I need to post the entire fucking URL! I did NOT ask to convert it to bit fkin ly!!!
that's a case of misquotation. I've seem much cases of litigation on users tweets. So It's seen that Tweets DO reports one's words, and auto-shorten does not aply
