Blocking and removing unwanted followers
Two problems, possibly related:
I want to remove some people from following me, but only 11 of my 17 followers show up in my followers list. When I click on 'remove' or 'block' on one of these followers, they are still in my followers list.
Thanks

Inappropriate?I have about 30 users, some with offensive pictures on my followers list because i've blocked them and they haven't dropped off.
I’m Frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Sorry to hear you are both experiencing the same problem. Isn't there anyway to ask someone from Twitter how to fix this? It's cool that we all help each other, in theory, but in practice its most frustrating that those who should know aren't contactable for help!
I’m really frustrated and increasingly impatient
-
Inappropriate?I agree with Jennifer Twitter needs to just take them off. They did until the last three I've gotten on there.
-
Inappropriate?Same problem. Only recently did my Blocked Followers now still show up on my Followers list. It says Blocked next to them but they still show on the list and the number of my Followers still includes them. I want people I Block to drop off my Followers list. I'm tired of seeing the porn/ad bots on my list.
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate?Same here, and it's frustrating and very irritating. This is not a change for the better!
I’m Angry

Inappropriate?I suspect this is related to the "slow database" known issue (see most recent twitter blog on this here) but that was allegedly fixed in the upgrade on Wednesday night and should have caught up with itself by now.
Would be nice to get an update from a twitter staffer on this...

Inappropriate?Bravenue, the link you posted works great, that person is awesome.... just to let the rest of you know...

Inappropriate?Same problem here - blocked some weirdos, and they still appear in my followers list. The numbers don't change either. I don't want my professional contacts to see them there! I certainly don't like them there at all!

Inappropriate?OK - I did what some folks suggested. I went to settings, set my account to private, then manually removed the unwanted followers. Then went back and unchecked private. Now those folks are gone, but the NUMBERS of followers are all messed up. They don't add up!
I’m somewhat annoyed

Inappropriate?Same issue here. I actually had to delete my account and then set up a new one to get rid of "hidden" followers. So as I was setting up my new account 5 more followers showed up before I even finished my profile, got rid of 4 of them but now (AGAIN) I have one follower who I can't see (hidden?) and it says I have 1 follower! Damn this is frustrating! My account is again set to private, but what good is private when you can't post on a time line!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Blocked people still show up on my Followers list. It says Blocked next to them but they still show on the list and their photos are on the galery to the right lower page as people I am following. I want people I Block to drop off all together. I'm tired of seeing the porn adds on my list.
Isn't there anyway to ask someone from Twitter how to fix this?
I’m getting quite POff

Inappropriate?Until twitter sort it out, try Lynne's workaround.
-
Inappropriate? The work around does work but it still sucks. You can't make a single status update anymore without picking up another porn/adbot of some kind. So now I'm constantly Blocking them, switching to Private, deleting them, then switching back to Public. They need to give this problem some priority.

Inappropriate? Before the upgrade, we had the option to block or remove the follower and it worked at the time. Why again was that changed??? Remember the saying... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..."
I’m extremely frustrated!!!
