If I block a follower does the other person get a message that I have blocked them?

Inappropriate?They don't get a message sent to them, but if they try to follow you again, they'll then receive an error saying that you have blocked them.

Inappropriate?I was actually blocked by someone and don't get a message when I try to re-follow (head meet brick wall!!) I just can't. Re-follow.
I do remember at one time seeing a "you cannot follow......" message though
I’m perplexed!
